Please share 🙏🏻💗😭
Hello, my name is Dancer. I'm a very sweet and happy girl. Someone told me that today is National Black Dog Day, so I wanted to write you a letter. You see, I am a black dog. I am also a Pit Bull. I'm about five years old, and I don't really get along with other animals. I looooooooove people, ALL people -- but I just don't care to have any furry friends. Because of these things, I have been waiting for a home for a very long time. Three years, to be exact. I can't go to adoption events (you know, that whole "doesn't like other furry creatures" thing), so my only hope of finding a family is here on the internet. My photo has been listed on the SOHF website for over 1,000 days. In that time, not one single person has ever applied to adopt me or even emailed to inquire about me.
My foster mama could tell you a lot of positives about me -- that I'm very smart and I know several tricks, that I lay in her lap and watch TV at night (once all the other dogs are tucked away in their crates), and that I'm totally crate-trained and housebroken. But none of that seems to matter, because I'm just another middle-aged black Pit Bull nobody wants.
I cannot live with any other animals, that's a definite. But, if you know someone who is looking for a new dog and would be happy to have me as their only child, I could volunteer! Would you tag them in the comments, please? That way they'll know I'm here and looking for them. I really need your help with this, please. I know that most people out there will skim over this post and not shed a tear for me. But maybe, just maybe, tonight someone will see my sweet smile and read my story and decide to give me a chance. I heard that another SOHF foster named Matilda got adopted recently after waiting four years for a home. She finally got herself a mama who loves her, quirks and all. That gives me a little hope. Maybe there actually is a mom or dad out there for me.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading, and thanks for caring about me.
Love,
Dancer
