‼️Injury Update‼️

During our Rodeo at Wind Vineyards this weekend there was a scary situation where one of the top riders endured a major trauma from the bull.

The rodeo staff were joined by Wind Vineyards owner, Tyler Wind, a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who was brought out of retirement! He recognized the rider had a dislocated shoulder and immediately reduced it. Paramedics came and the rider was placed on a backboard and transported to the hospital.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the rider never even entered the hospital and was met with a helicopter that transported him. He has stated he is doing well but did have a fracture of his shoulder blade, dislocated shoulder, fracture of his cervical spine, major concussion, and internal bleeding that required surgery. To the best of our knowledge, he should be on the road to a full recovery!

A big thanks to the BLM Bull and Rodeo Company crew, Dr. Wind, and the Essex County paramedics for working together to get this young man the proper care he needed! It was a great team effort!

We also appreciate the COUNTLESS folks who have reached out asking about the riders status. It says a lot about people when you care about others—we expected nothing less from our faithful supporters!

Please join us in keeping this young man in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery! Rodeo is a fun but dangerous sport and that is part of the reason that every event begins with a prayer!

We appreciate everyone’s support, concern, assistance, and prayers—we are very blessed at Wind Vineyards to be surrounded by such great people!

Come see us the next 2 weekends for our AMAZING
Wind Vineyards Fall Festival

We also will have Haunted Hayrides & our Field of Fright Corn Maze Saturday nights!

Lastly, our Wines, Balloons, and Tunes Hot Air Balloon Festival at Wind Vineyards is coming November 8&9! Don’t miss the fun!

🤠🐎FAQ:Rodeo at Wind Vineyards🐎🤠🔥

It is almost SHOW DAY with our friends at BLM Bull and Rodeo Company! Here are some answers to FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Are tickets available at the gate?
🔥ABSOLUTELY! Tickets are cash ONLY at the gate, FYI. You may buy them online if you would like to use a credit card, but you will save processing fees paying cash at the gate.

When & where?
🔥October 12 at 854 Dunbrooke Road Tappahannock (the event entrance to Wind Farms) Gates will open at 1pm for our Fall Fesrival. Mini bulls and introductions will begin around 530 and the professional riders will be up around 7. The fun will continue until approximately 9 or 930.

Do I need a ticket for the Wind Vineyards Fall Festival?
🔥No! One ticket gets you into BOTH the Rodeo AND Fall Festival tomorrow!

When should I arrive?
🔥Your call, but likely EARLIER rather than later! Seating is first come first serve, the place will fill up, AND EXPECT A MAD RUSH TO GET DRINKS AND FOOD JUST BEFORE THE SHOW! Every rodeo we do the wine tent is very busy the hour just prior to starting the event. Come early to beat the lines!

We can’t I bring?
🔥For this event, we do not allow outside food, drinks, or cups.

Can I bring my pet?
🔥There are NO PETS at our big events for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. Pets are welcome to stay in your car or camper at your discretion.

How do I sign my child up for mutton busting?
🔥Kids must be 60 pounds or less and you can register onsite—first come, first serve. Do this early because it will almost certainly fill quickly!

Can I bring chairs?
🔥Yes! We do have some areas planned for chairs to be used but we also have a good amount of bleachers that will hold most of the crowd. All seating and spots are first come first serve!

Can I bring a canopy/tent/umbrella?
🔥Yes, BUT they must be set up in the rear behind others. No obstructive structures on the front rows. If your tent or umbrella blocks anyone it will need to be taken down.

Is this like the other rodeos I see advertised?
🔥NO! Unlike many other events, this rodeo is a true, SEBRA Bull Riding and Barrel Racing sanctioned event with high level professional riders from across the country! We invest a lot of money into providing the BEST rodeo available! This is not amateur folks putting on a show riding a cow. This is the “Major Leagues” of rodeo!

What is the cost to ride Grape Crusher Monster Ride Truck?
🔥Grape Crusher is always one of our most popular attractions at all events! Rides are $15. Purchase your tickets at the Wind Vineyards merchandise and wine tents.

Do I need to bring cash?
🔥If possible, YES! We do accept cards and believe most all third party vendors so as well. However, if lines start to form we will have a “cash only” line that will provide faster service and get you back to the show quickly! Cash transactions are markedly faster than credit cards so keep lines moving.

“Why aren’t you answering the phone?”
🔥We do our absolute very best to answer every phone call and even return all missed calls we have. However, especially within 24 hours of our big events the number of calls, emails, texts, messages, etc we get is astronomical! Putting questions in the comments is likely your easiest way to get answers. We do ask that you READ OUR POSTS as they include most answers. We will likely do a live video soon to show the venue, traffic flow, set up, etc.

See you later today! LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!!!
