Twas the night before Maine Maple Weekend and all through the farm, everyone was waking up early - without an alarm.
A few Spiller children skipped school to help with the maple chores , they are bribed with maple ice cream as they burst through Grammyβs doors.
The boys are boiling and bottling late each night, while the girls are making sure their cookie and fudge recipes are just right.
The chickens are loving life during this time - as they get to free range. With all the people around the hawks stay away -they love getting out of their cage!
The horses are listening to the hustle and bustle- of tractors , excavators and skid steers. They know something exciting is happening as one of their favorite weekends nears.
Everyone knows their job and they do it just right - you can bet that tonight we will be up past midnight!
Tomorrow we get to share our labor of love with you all and donβt forget- come back in the fall!
When the last piece of wood is tucked in the stove and the last hot ember from the chimney blowsβ¦
We will shout it from the rooftop that this farm is a blessing - and without you all we could not keep progressing!
So a reminder for tomorrow breakfast starts at nine and goes till one- please come join us for maple and pancakes, they are second to none!
SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW ! Breakfast will be 9-1 both days and then we will switch to chili, hot dogs and maple beans! OPEN UNTIL 3! We cannot wait to see yβall! Our new store is open ( filled with allll the maple goodies )on the Farm Side of the road so no crossing the street unless you want to check out the sugar shack of course!
