Thanksgiving is right around the corner. It may be too late to train new behaviors that will "stick" when loads of people arrive, but you can manage the behaviors.
We love the snuffle mats by @thinksmartpets as they are not only beautiful but they are so well crafted. Get one for your pup today to help manage any unwanted begging behaviors well you are trying to enjoy your meal.
Snuffle mats and snuffle balls available in the shoppe. Let me know if you want to come by today and shop.
CJ has another important tip for you.
CJ may be the author of this study... and the only source... as well as the only participant in the study itself but don't worry about all that.
He says his study is completely valid.
🤣
Unfortunately, kennel cough is making its rounds again.
Please please please keep your dog home if they are showing ANY signs of being sick.
There will always be another day for your dog to come here.
But CJ is a senior dog, if he gets sick it could not be as easily treated.
There are no sick dogs here at The Timeless Dog. This is just a general announcement/reminder.
Thank you 💚
Couple updates for what some of what to expect for the rest of the year here.
Does your dog like sniffing things out when out and about?
Are you looking for ways to enrich their days and work their brains a bit more?
Snuffle balls/mats are a great answer for that!
Plus - winter is coming ❄️
This will make for a great cold weather activity.
Find their kibble or treats for them to sniff out.
On the shelves now!
I call this ✨️organic✨️ enrichment
Not my best video but doing some backyard treat scavenging in this beautiful weather.
We truly aren't trying to give you more work. It's just all dogs learn at different rates.
If you had siblings growing up they were most likely in a different level of schooling then you were. When they were learning algebra you may have been learning fractions. And that was okay.
So why do we expect our dogs to learn at the same pace?
Working them individually first helps to set them all up for success. Once they individually have the skills then you can try them together. You may have to make it easier at first but again that's okay!
And most importantly- don't compare the first time working with your dog to someone's years of working with their dog.
No dog is going to "get it" right away. Learning takes time. Give your dog that.
I only shared a short clip here but what was recorded after was me trying again but making it easier for Jack and then completely ending the training about a minute after this section i shared ends. No need to stress either of them out more because of what a human wants them to do.
