CJ has an important question for you today.
Going to the vet, victory visits!

Continuing our chat about reactivity in dogs.
I will never stop talking about how important starting at your vet is.
Once a clean bill of health is given then and only then can behavioral modification begin.
Your dog does not have to have any medical conditions to be reactive but it is being seen that more and more reactive dogs do actually have an underlying medical condition that has to be addressed first.
Finally getting around to your requests from the beginning of the year. Sorry it's taken me so long, but in my defense I've been a little distracted with CJ.
This video starts our talks about reactivity!
Did you know January is National Train Your Dog Month?
We want to see what skills your dog knows or is working on! Tag us in your videos please 💚
Enrichment toys are essential for dogs as they stimulate their minds, reduce boredom, and prevent destructive behavior. They keep dogs engaged and happy, promoting both physical and mental well-being.
They also tire your dog out faster than physical exercise does! But please still walk your dog and play with them that is important too!

What's your favorite food in the world? Or a special little treat you get excited to indulge in?
Now what's something you kind of want to do but you know there is something more exciting you could be taking part in?
If you got to have that special treat you love so much while doing the activity you only kind of want to do instead of the more exciting one (without the special treat) would you enjoy doing the "boring" activity more? Probably!
And that's how it is for our dogs when we ask them to do things we humans prefer for them to do - ie walk next to us instead of pulling us all over the place
Your dog would much rather be exploring, walking at their normal faster than us slow humans pace, sniffing all the things than we stuck walking next to us. However add in something they really love like a special treat or favorite toy then it is more likely they will choose to walk with us.
Yes, we do still have to do some training to teach them where we would like to walk but it will go a heck of a lot faster with sone positive reinforcement.
Bring. The. Treats.
What do you need from me this year?
Do you want more Rosie content? More CJ?
Do you want more reactivity talk? More new dog information?
What about learning medical stuff that could be going on explained to you in a way that isn't too technical?
Or just silly videos of me making weird faces while I dance and drop treats to CJ? 🤣
How can I best serve you in the new year? Let me know in the comments.
