I’ve been out of business cards for a while now but I’ve hesitated on ordering more because I wanted to include a new link on them.

A link to my new on-demand print site!

I’ve been waiting to be accepted into a community of artists via inprnt, which is based in Orlando Florida.

There are many on-demand printing sites out there but too many of them steal your artwork, make poor-quality prints, and/or my least favorite: accept generative AI because a buck’s a buck, right?

So I found INPRNT from one of the fb groups I’m in, Artists Against Generative AI, and I applied with a few images of my watercolors, and I waited; and today I finally got accepted!

That means my site will be up soon and you’ll be able to order prints from anywhere!

7"x5" watercolor Brown Bear- did you know there are 8 subspecies of brown bear? Siberian, Eurasian, Amur, Kamchatka, Kodiak, Alaska Peninsula, Sitka, and Grizzly. Some are genetically identical but classified only by geographical location.

I’m too far north for Bloomington Studio Tours but also a mile too far south for Owen County Studio Tours.

I’m also a 30 minute drive from most anything.

But I think I have a little destination here 😅 and I’d like to have an open studio next year!

Would any local artists like to team up with me at my farm for an open studio day one weekend in late Summer or early fall next year?

Maybe you don’t have a studio or your studio doesn’t have good parking or your property is 30 minutes away from anything like mine- or something else?

15”x11” watercolor, “Young Livestock Guardians” here’s a source photo that I’ve hung on to for a while. I think it was a puppy sale ad on one of my many Facebook groups for farmers. To me, this is the contemporary homesteader in a painting. The blue barrel, the IBC totes, the pallet, and of course the Great Pyrenees puppies being raised with goats. It’s Americana, it’s a moment of the journey toward self-sufficiency- it’s headed to Opera House Gallery!

I’m a firm believer that herd animals should be kept in herds. Horses, cattle, goats, hogs, etc. Keeping a lone herd animal should always be avoided if at all possible.

I also believe that artists are herd animals and I think we do best when surrounded with other artists. I’ve been lucky with a good herd. I found myself a beautiful artist and married him 9 years ago. I have many artist friends! I was lucky to have joined the Hoosier Artist Gallery last year and since then I think I’ve grown much more than I would ever have on my own in the same amount of time.

I’ve loved the presence of this stained glass piece by Anne Ryan Miller Glass Studio since she brought it into the gallery. Today I made this small watercolor to remind me of her piece called Water Flow, which is still for sale at the gallery!

I hope my paintings inspire others to create more paintings and our artist herd fills the world’s eyes with the best art our funny species can create.

Update on Sookie’s piggies- 1 month old today!

Here’s a crash course in butter making for you. Hold on to your britches because it’s fast! When making butter at home, just remember to be patient, cover your mixer with a towel, and apologize to your mixer afterward as you clean the butter and buttermilk out of her nooks and crannies.
