EMERGENCY MESSAGE TO ANYONE WITH AN AUTOMATIC LITTERBOX

If you are using the "Amztoy Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box" (pictured below), stop using immediately!!

We had a tragic incident this morning at a foster home where a kitten got pinched in the litterbox as it was going into cleaning mode and unfortunately passed away.

Although these litter boxes supposedly contain safety features that prevent accidents, this specific litter box froze when it detected an "obstruction" and instead of returning to the open position, it locked in place trapping the kitten.

There are many automatic litter boxes on the market, but do not buy or use any that don't remain open when they go into self clean mode. The Litter Robot models that we are aware of, stay open the whole time and doesnt pose the same risk.

PLEASE share this message with EVERYONE that you can so we can prevent another tragedy like this.

Also, reach out to companies that sell litter boxes like this. "Amztoy" is not an easy company to contact, but the company that they sell through is. (Amazon.com)

This is an absolutely unacceptable design flaw and these litter boxes need to be recalled and no longer sold.

We will be changing our office hours in order to be open 5 days a week. This will give us more appointment availability allowing us to better serve our community. Starting July 22nd, 2024 our office will be open Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm.

Notice to all of our clients:
Please do not park or block access to our dumpster. Our trash is not being picked up at its scheduled day/time due to the dumpster being blocked. That is also an area our staff park in order to leave the front of the building open for our clients. If it is open in front of the dumpster it is due to either a staff member being gone, or it is our scheduled trash day and we have left the area open for the truck to access our dumpster. We understand that parking can be tight at our office, but you will be asked to move if you park in that area. Thank you for your understanding.

Just a friendly reminder that our office has implemented a No-Show, cancellation, and deposit for appointment policy. This is as follows:

🐾 Any missed appointments will result in a $20 no-show fee PER PET that was scheduled to be seen. You will be unable to make another appointment until this balance is paid.

🐾 Any new clients must pay a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit PER PET BEING SEEN prior to booking an appointment. Deposits are $30 for a vaccine appointment and $70 for a medical appointment.

🐾 Any existing clients who have not been to the office in TWO years or more will also be required to leave a non-refundable deposit prior to booking their appointments.

🐾ALL surgeries require a NON-REFUNDABLE $100 deposit prior to scheduling the appointment.

🐾 Any appointments canceled the day of will be subject to a $20 cancellation fee PER PET THAT WAS SCHEDULED.

ALL deposits and fees MUST be taken care of prior to booking and all are non-refundable. If you have any questions regarding our policies, please feel free to reach out. We understand this can be an inconvenience, but unfortunately we have had an abundance of appointments being missed or canceled same day so this has become necessary.

With our doctor unable to make it to the office and limited staff that could come in today, our office will be closing at 1:00pm. If you have an emergency before 5:30pm please call our main hospital (Fairmont Veterinary Hospital) at 304-363-0930. Any emergencies after 6:00pm call the NCWV Veterinary Emergency Clinic at 304-363-2227. If your pet is not experiencing an emergency please wait and call us tomorrow morning. We will be back in the office 1/17/24 at 8:30am.

Holiday Hours Update:
Today and tomorrow (12/18 and 12/19) our office will be open from 8:30am to 5:00pm for technician appointments and medication pick ups.
Wednesday the 20th and Thursday the 21st we will be open 8:30am to 5:30pm for scheduled appointments with our Doctor, as well as technician appointments and medication pickups.
We will be open this Friday the 22nd from 9:00am to 12:30pm. Dr. Scott Moore will be here seeing appointments. This is also the last day to pick up any medications before Christmas.
We will be closed Christmas Day- 12/25
Normal business hours the remainder of the year.
We will be closed New Years Day 01/01/2024
Be sure to pick up and medications/preventatives your pet may need during our open hours.
