Last week we closed an extra day to celebrate our annual Waggy Tails Team Appreciation Day! We had a fun day of Cape Cod adventures planned but Monday ended up being the rainiest day of the month! So we spent the day at the Cape bowling, shopping, laughing together and we made the best of it!

I am so incredibly grateful for these kind, caring, and wonderful people!! Thank you for all of your hard work, for going above and beyond for our dogs, dog families, our team and me! On Team Appreciation Day and every day, I am grateful for you!! ❤️🐾❤️

Hello Waggy Tails family! 👋 Firework season is here so it’s important to ensure the safety and well-being of your furry friends. 🫶🏻 Here are some tips to keep your dog calm and safe during firework displays:

🪪 Identification: *This is of the utmost importance!* Ensure your dog’s ID tags and microchip information are up-to-date in case they manage to escape. Dogs go missing on the 4th of July more than any other day of the year!!

🤫 Create a Safe Space: Set up a cozy, quiet area in your home where your dog can feel secure.

🏡 Keep Them Indoors: Make sure your dog is inside well before the fireworks start. Close windows, curtains, and doors to minimize the noise and flashing lights.

🎶 Use Soothing Sounds: Play calming music or turn on the TV to help drown out the sound of fireworks.

😌 Stay Calm: Your dog can sense your emotions. Stay calm and act normally to help reassure your dog that there is nothing to fear.

🦴 Provide Comfort: Offer your dog a favorite toy or blanket. Chewing on a toy can help relieve stress.

❌ Avoid Fireworks: Never take your dog to a fireworks display. The loud noises and crowds can be overwhelming and frightening.

🦮 Exercise Beforehand: Take your dog for a long walk earlier in the day to help tire them out and reduce anxiety later on.

💊 Consider Anxiety Aids: If your dog gets very anxious, consider using anxiety wraps, pheromone diffusers, or consulting your vet for other calming options.
