As a life long animal lover I grew up with the dream of working in the Veterinarian field. After graduating with my Associates degree in 2012 I decided to enroll in a vet technician program. One requirement prior to starting the program was job shadowing. As I participated in the job shadowing at the local I clinic I soon realized that particular field was not the best fit for me. Fast forward to that Winter I decided to get my first dog, a 3 month old female German Shepherd Dog. I have always had a soft spot for the breed. Boy did I step into the wrong situation. Upon picking up my puppy I walked into a house that was less than ideal for breeding and I was presented with a scared, skinny, shaking puppy. I knew I could not leave her there and so the journey began. Turned out she had experienced some abuse and was fearful aggressive, reactive towards men, scared of every noise and movement, as well as sick with Giardia and a leg condition from being contained. I took upon myself to learn all I could to help her and spent months working with her. After much progress was made people were amazed at her transformation both physically and behavior and asked for the name of the trainer...when I revealed I did the training; the requested for help started coming in. In Fall 2014 I decided to take what I had learned, my passion, talent and dedication expand upon on and become a trainer to the service the community and owners with needs for training beyond the typical classes offered at facilities. I have worked with it all from puppies, fear, anxiety, reactivity and even aggression. The cases in which a dog may not be able to be in a class setting, someone who does not have the availability or ability to go to a class is the reason for offering in home private training as well as the convenience factor and seeing each dog in their normal environment helps me to see the behaviors the owners see. I enjoy every dog and family I meet and get to work with and the progress in each dog is better than words can explain.
