Last night Bella joined her buddy Stella.

Today was a rough day. We lost Stella to some kind of virus that affected her nervous system or spine. The vet tried to save her but said she would only be suffering if we did not let her go. It happened so suddenly and we are so heartbroken today. Poor baby girl had a peaceful last few weeks with us.

Every day is hopefully getting better for these 2 babies. The light one is Stella and the darker one we decided to change to Bella. Hoping to get some trust so we can touch them. I might have set us back trying to fix the halter I put on Bella but it fell off her nose again anyway.
I bought her a new halter though once I can get close enough to put it on her without scaring them. I did that the day we got them which I did not realize was not a good thing to do if I'm trying to gain trust. BUT through another group I was able to learn some things to feed them, so they have been excited for feed time at least. I'm hoping they associate me with food and that helps. Lots of new things to learn with them, but I'm so happy to be giving them a new chance at living a happy life.

I meant to share our update from yesterday, but it showed as a story instead of a post. :) We welcomed 2 new additions to our little farm from a feed lot. They were supposed to ship out on Monday. We have been overwhelmed by donations and people purchasing some items in order to help cover these little donkeys' road to recovery. Their feet need attention, and the vet needs to check on them, but we are hoping for them to settle in and recover. However long it takes them, we will do everything we can for them.

We have nine chicks available! 2 light Brahma and the rest are Buff Brahma. They are roughly 10 weeks old. Straight run, however most appear to be hens. Asking $20 each or make an offer!

All sells go to buy feed for my chickens. Thank you for your tim!

We have eggs available! Chicken eggs are $4 a dozen, or bring an empty carton and get a dozen for $3!
If you would like duck eggs, they are $7 a dozen, or $6 with an empty carton.

We moved the roosters to their new spot on Sunday!

We had a busy weekend! Moved all minus 4 (because they are brooding on eggs) of the hens to the new coop. Added the first 2 crops of hatchlings and the new chicken run is full! The hens have been laying in the new nesting boxes which is much easier to get to them. :D

New chicken runs are being built for our little growing flock! We had to remove or trim some trees, but the first run is almost there! Still lots more work to make the chickens safe in their new location on the farm, but hopefully we will have most of it done in a month or so. :)

We have chicken eggs for sale! $4 a dozen or $3 a dozen for each empty carton you bring. Duck eggs are $8 a dozen, or $7 with an empty carton. If you want some hatching eggs, please give us a few days notice and we can keep them from refrigeration, $10 a dozen for chicken hatching eggs, $20 for duck but allow at least a week for duck eggs.
