Auggie is beyond ready for a home of his own!

Auggie has been with us since 9/14. He is now 8 months old and weighs between 35-40 lbs. He's dog and kid friendly and seems cat friendly. He is rambunctious so some dogs and kids may not appreciate his enthusiasm! He knows sit when he isn't too excited and is trying to work on manners. He loves toys and snacks and has never met a stranger!

Once again, Janna Donnell has collected her spare change for the year and brought it to us as a donation! We did a very quick count of the change and the unofficial amount is $148.63! Every year, Janna challenges others to save their spare change for the shelter--take the challenge and help out your local shelter!

Stray: 242 cats, 308 dogs, 1 bat
Surrendered: 158 cats, 187 dogs, 1 guinea pig
Seized by Law Enforcement: 47 dogs
Born in Care: 29 cats

Total: 429 cats, 542 dogs, 1 guinea pig, 1 bat

Adopted: 50 cats, 101 dogs, 1 guinea pig
Rescued: 239 cats, 237 dogs, 1 bat
Returned to Owner: 7 cats, 139 dogs
TNRed: 49 cats
Died: 36 cats, 1 dog
Euthanized: 53 cats, 75 dogs

We would like to thank all of our supporters - our adopters, our donors, our volunteers, our rescue partners! We could not do this hard work without the help of all of you guys! We are hoping for a good year going forward and hope for your continued support!

Seized by Law Enforcement: 2 dogs

Total: 8 cats, 34 dogs

Outcomes:

Adopted: 8 cats, 11 dogs
Rescued: 8 cats, 14 dogs
Returned to Owner: 8 dogs
Died: 1 cat
Euthanized: 1 cat, 5 dogs

We are seeing an uptick in loose dogs in the last few days. PLEASE be responsible pet owners and contain your pets. Keep ID on them and microchip them! Make sure the information on their microchips is up to date! And we are also seeing an increase in parvo cases! Vaccinate your pets!

Cooper is an older gentleman still waiting for a place of his own!

Cooper has been with us since 9/25. He is 9 years old and weighs around 80 lbs. He is okay with female dogs, but not males. He is kid friendly and seems okay with cats. He knows sit and loves food. He has a medium energy level. He is usually good on leash, but pulls from time to time and is very strong when he does.

HSYC staff and Board Members had their Christmas party last night! In lieu of a gift exchange, board members brought items on the wish list for the shelter! Thank you to the amazing staff members that go above and beyond and work so hard! We appreciate you more than you know! And thank you to Rockin’ S for the delicious meal and excellent service!

Looking for two new housemates? Christian (tabby/white) and Santiago (black/white) are looking for a home together!

They are 9 month old brothers with very complimentary personalities! They have been with us since May. Christian is pretty outgoing while Santiago is a little more reserved at first. They are definitely fun to watch together!

HSYC would like to extend a huge Thank You to this hard working group of GJHS students! They competed in the Hot Chocolicious competition the night of the Christmas Stroll!

The Cocoa Pups raised $1626.00 giving the Humane Society of Young County a check donation of $1326.00 and a cash donation of $300.
Graham Savings awarded this team with Best Product and Packaging!

Thank you again for your hard work and supporting the homeless animals of Young County!
