After nearly 2 years in his foster home, Zig finally found his forever family! He came to the shelter in 2022, went to his foster home in January 2023 and has been patiently waiting for this moment. We want to thank everyone who donated and brought items for the pet angel tree! The dogs and cats had a blast receiving their toys, beds, treats, etc! Here is just some of the videos we took when we handed everything out!

The time to winterize and make plans for outdoor pets is now. The weather coming in Sunday and into next week is predicted to have wind chills in the teens and real temps in the 30s for highs on Monday. A plastic dog house is not sufficient for most pets. Insulated shelters with straw bedding, a floor, top, and three enclosed sides are needed. Feral cats benefit from houses made from Styrofoam ice chests with a small cut out for a door and filled with straw. Bring your pets inside!

HSYC will be closed Saturday to allow staff to travel to PETS in Wichita to assist with shelter spay and neuters.
