Why can wildlife p**p in the woods, but my dog can't?

Wild animals consume nutrients native to the ecosystem and quickly "return" those same resources to the environment. Some animals even further benefit the ecosystem by p**ping because digestion breaks down seed coatings and helps germinate seeds once they've "passed." 💩

Our dogs, however, consume food that isn't part of the environment they are exploring. Pet waste also adds nitrogen and phosphorous to the environment (no good!) and often introduces harmful pathogens and bacteria.

Do your doody and pack that 💩 out!

Friendly reminder: The animal shelter has received so many calls this week in regard to found dogs. Most of these dogs had collars on but no tags. It's really hard to get these dogs home before they have to come to the shelter since they had no identification. The county ordinances are that every dog needs to be wearing a current rabies tag and a current county tag(sold at all vets, the animal shelter and town halls). And as always, a name tag with a phone number helps immensely (the shelter has an engraving machine). Please keep an eye on your pet so you know they are safe.
