📣 Hybris appreciation post!! 📣

Emi and “H” finished the circuit with a weekend that included THREE trips of a lifetime, including a National Derby score of 86 (nailing ALL the 3’6 options, thank you very much!), a large jr hunter classic score of 86, and a 🥇 in the hugely competitive jr hunter handy! 😍💪🏼

Two short years ago, these two were learning their way around the low children’s hunter division — Hybris fresh out of the jumpers, Emi transitioning to the hunters. They’ve put in the work, taken it slow, learned to trust each other, and the results are plain to see!

So proud of them both!

We blinked and now we’re already headed into Week VII! First, some highlights from Week VI!

⚡️Emi Cisneroa and Eleonara were 🥈 in the mini maclay, 🥉in the mini medal, and fourth in a very competitive NHS!

⚡️Ava Stantial and Vantastico were 🥇and 🥇in the league children’s medal and the ncea/ushja hunt seat medal, 🥉 in the league jr/am medal, and 4th in the Taylor Harris!

⚡️ Madison Mushok and Candyboy Z were 4th in the 1.10m amateur jumpers.

⚡️ Emi Cisneros and Hybris were 4th and 4th in the 3’3 jr hunter o/f and handy!

⚡️ Ava Stantial and Clear Skies were champions in the 1.10m junior jumpers 🏆

⚡️ Madison Mushok and Acalix Hero were 🥇 and 🥇in adult jump seat medal and the USEF adult medal, and 🥈in the Ariat!

⚡️ Chris Peregrin and Kerusa were fast and clear and in the ribbons in the 135m open speed!

Heading into Week VI — but first, some highlights from our first week of showing during Week V!

⚡️ Grace Tice and BB, making his equitation debut, were🥈in the M&S Adult Medal, 🥉in the Jump Seat, and sixth in the USEF Adult Medal.

⚡️ Kathryn Hegarty and Ajax made their Florida debut, taking home fifth in the .80 Junior/Am Jumper Classic!

⚡️ Ava Stantial and Clear Skiea were 4th in the 1.10m Junior Jumpers, and stepped up and jumped a clear round in the 1.15m Jr Jumper Classic, taking home sixth!

⚡️ Madison Mushok and Acalix Hero Z were Adult Eq reserve champion, 🥇in the USEF Adult Medal, and🥉in the Jump Seat.

⚡️ Emilia Cisneros and Hybris moved up and took home 4th in the handy and 5th o/f in the 3’3 Junior Hunters.

⚡️Ava Stantial and Vantastico were 🥈in the USHJA Hunt Seat, and 4th in the NHS.

⚡️Madison Mushok and her new Candyboy got to know each other, and wound up with a 4th in the Open 1.10m!

⚡️Emilia Cisneros and Eleonara snagged a 🥈in the Taylor Harris with a score of 85 in their show debut — and nobody got it on video! 🙈

⚡️Chris Peregrin and Kerusa jumped 2 clear rounds in the Open 1.30m, took ribbons in both, and are ready to move up!

We congratulate the Loomis Chaffee x Valkyrie team for their outstanding participation and achievements at the IEA show held at Folly Farm. We also celebrate Maddy Mushok’s qualification for the Zone Finals and the participation of our talented riders Cathy Zhang, Kiki Ribeiro, and Delphine Streeter.

The Loomis Chaffee high school IEA team hosted a horse show at their home barn, Valkyrie today. Although winter arrived in full force this week, the horses could not have behaved better, and the show ran with ease. Much thanks to all of our exhibitors, to both the LC team as well as the Valkyrie teams for all of their help, and a special thanks to all of our horse show officials for helping to make the day a huge success!

Just like them, our mission is to elevate equestrian sports to new heights, with a vision of excellence and a deep commitment to the care of our horses.

The lines and typography of our new logo are designed to blend the majesty of Norse mythology with the elegance and subtlety that define us. Every detail of this new identity reflects our passion for training and the well-being of our horses, which are the core pillars of our community.

A reminder about the farm, and the property that we share with the horses: while horses are in pastures, it’s their time to be away from interaction with or stimulation from people, and we must respect that. They work very hard for us, and then they need time to themselves — and we’re so grateful that time is provided to them.

We therefore ask that when visiting Julien’s, you admire them only from the garden or the views from the shop. Valkyrie is a separate business, and a private property, so for the welfare of all of the horses — and people! — please respect these two separate spaces.

(PS: they’re transparent fly masks on their heads - not blindfolds!! 🙈)

Team Valkyrie split up last week. spent the week at the Pennsylvania National horse show competing and ribboning in very competitive jumper divisions, while and .neq took on New England finals. The week proved beyond successful for all. A perfect finish to a show season filled with learning, camaraderie, growth and of course excellent partnership. Many thanks go out to our teams both on the road and at home who help to keep things running smoothly. It certainly does take a village!

So proud of these two riders and their performance in their last equitation final. Both rose to the occasion this afternoon and laid down some of their best rounds yet; demonstrating great riding, but even better partnership. For us trainers, these are the special moments, when sport and teamwork align at the right place and the right time…particularly when your teammates are Hero and Kallisto. It was a satisfying day for team Valkyrie at New England Finals! Congratulations to and .neq and much love to their mounts!
