Lenny came into our lives over fifteen years ago. I wanted a small, friendly, safe horse for my kids to “learn the ropes” with. Over the years, Lenny has proven to be the most wonderful companion for both humans and horses alike. He was truly the Grandpa of the barn, loved dearly by all who had the privilege to know him. He will be sorely missed. RIP Leonard.

Despite Mother Nature doing her best to challenge us this week, we still managed to pull off a successful horse show thanks to our incredible staff, supportive parents, and hardworking students. The Loomis Chaffee team took home the win, with Valkyrie finishing the day in a strong third place. We are deeply grateful to the entire Valkyrie team, as well as the parents and students who made the day possible. And, of course, our biggest thanks go to our wonderful horses, who stayed remarkably well-behaved despite the frigid temperatures all week.

THEY DID IT! In just their second time competing in the medium pony hunter division, Isaac Mainardi and Just Magic qualified for pony finals!

Valkyrie kicked off its winter series of horse shows and clinics today, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start. It was wonderful to welcome so many enthusiastic riders, families, and supporters to the barn. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special shout-out to our judge, Joy Collins, who went above and beyond by offering thoughtful, constructive feedback to both riders and their families. It was a fun and educational day for all. Stay tuned for more schooling shows and clinics throughout the winter!

We had a beautiful day for our home IEA show. What a phenomenal group of riders, parents and horses. Thank you to our amazing team moms who kept us well fed and motivated during our set up Friday night. Thank you to and for your amazing support and coaching. And most of all, a huge thank you to our very well behaved and tolerant school horses. It was a great day!

It was a beautiful day for IEA. All three teams showed up ready to ride and ready to support each other. Loomis Chaffee IEA earned reserve champion 🏵️ and the Valkyrie middle school team ended up in 3rd. While these results certainly are nice, what was more rewarding was witnessing the sportsmanship, camaraderie and genuine kindness of the riders on all three teams. The day just felt great! Many thanks to Jenn Wilda and Sarah Stevenson for your support and coaching! On to our home show next Saturday!!

Our inaugural Jumper night was a resounding success! Starting with a thorough course walk, we wrapped up the evening racing against the clock under the lights. Such a great way to promote learning, camaraderie, and team enthusiasm.
