Case of the Day !

Meet Storm , she’s a 7 year old Black lab. Storm presented last Thursday for sneezing a lot and not acting like her normal self. It was noted that Storm is a hunting dog and was out a few days before the behavior started . Not being able to do a nasal exam that day she was sent home to be monitored.

Fast forward to today Storm came in for a sedated oral / nasal exam as the symptoms had worsened. Once Dr. Darin was able to look into the nasal passage we found the problem! A Cattail !

Once awake it was obvious Storm was feeling much better! She was sent home on Antibiotics to be sure no infection occurs.

Happy Friday, never know what veterinary medicine will bring !

Happy November! 🦃🍁

Did you know that November is National Senior Pet month ! While age is not a disease, there are certain health conditions that affect our senior pets more often than younger ones.

Unfortunately an older pet is more likely to develop diseases such as heart, kidney, and liver disease; cancer; or arthritis. Behavioral changes may also occur. Senior pets require additional care, such as more frequent examinations, diagnostics.

Please give us a call to schedule a Senior Wellness !

Happy Friday !

Meet Vern, a handsome 9 year old Lab. Vern’s owner noticed today that he was moving around slower than normal. He also noticed Vern was uncomfortable with any movement in the left side of his neck. Thankfully we were able to get him in and do an exam. Upon examination it was noted that he was very stiff in his neck. In these situations our cold laser machine comes into play. Vern was a very good boy during his cold laser session and even wore his goggles the entire time! Hopefully Vern will be feeling back to normal in time !

Happy Friday!

Case of the Week !

Meet Winston, a 9 year old Beagle.

Winston presented today for discomfort in his mouth. During his exam Dr. Dorsey was able to open the mouth and noticed something along the roof of the mouth. P was uncomfortable so he was dropped off to spend the morning with us. During his time he was lightly sedated and we were able to do a full mouth exam. The exam revealed there was a stick stuck on the roof of his mouth between his carnassial teeth. Once the stick was removed Winston was woken up and sent home. Winston was sent home on some pain medication and antibiotics!

Case of the Week !

Meet Ivy, a 6 month old Chameleon. Ivy presented a week ago for not acting herself. Radiographs were taken and eggs were seen. Owner was made aware and given some tips to try and get her to pass them on her own . Today she was presented again for being bloated and still not acting herself. Today’s radiograph revealed she had about twice as many as last time. Oxytocin was given and about an hour later we had our first egg ! After about 3 hours there were a total of 26 eggs. One final radiograph was taken and confirmed no eggs were left !

Did you know being egg bound is a very common thing in reptiles?
