Evening strolls with Saga!

Saga came to us along with 2 other dogs after being live trapped during a harsh winter. She has been integrating into being a pampered pet instead of a dog left outside to fend for herself. She loves the friendship she has made with the other dogs in her foster home and is conquering leash walks. Saga has made so much progress in rescue and continues to amaze us!

Thank you to everyone who shared the posts and pleas for help of our new friend! No one in the animal community ever wants euthanasia to be the only option left for an animal. We are so glad that the community rallied around this sweet boy to bring him to safety before it was too late.

Volunteers picked him up from the pound before the deadline - the pound staff was so thankful that he found help, later this afternoon a temporary foster will bring him home until Niko's House Husky Rescue can accept him into their program in a couple days. What an amazing journey this boy will go on.

While logistics to bring this boy to safety were taking place pound pleas for 4 other dogs came in. We still need you, pups' lives are still in the balance without you.

The husky that we shared yesterday that needs foster by today is not in our possession and we are trying to secure a foster to be able to accept him. We are also in communication with other organizations to help. We currently do not have the space. Our current fosters and A Place Called Home are full.

His time is up at a local pound and we need help to save him. We need new fosters to open their homes to save him and many others like him. We also need help to be able to move one or more of our dogs currently at our temporary hold building (to either a foster or paid boarding) to make room for him and others. If we can get the help needed to save this handsome boy, he will then need to be neutered and vaccinated. Please, we need you and he needs you.

Hey there stranger, the name's Farley! I am a good guy who loves couch cuddles, walks, and an extra chewy toy. On a hot summer day, I prefer to be with you, inside, enjoying that fabulous A/C!

I could use someone in my life to teach me new tricks, to keep me on the nice list and go on adventures with. I am a smart boy. I also like to play fetch.

I love people and making new friends. Cats on the other hand, not so much. The silly things always run away when I try to play chase!

Carmie enjoys playing with his littermate and chasing the human toddler around the yard. He has a moderate energy level and would do best in home with a yard and maybe another canine friend to play with. He is very sweet and initially timid of new people and places. Carmie LOVES meal time. He is kenneled at night and when no one is home. Potty training is going well. He will whimper when he needs to go out. Adopt this very adorable little boy.

Thank you Vince for another wonderful year of supporting the pups with your Iron Butt Ride! 🏍💕🐾

For another year in a row, Vince has supported the pups by doing an hours-long ride where every mile equals a dollar donated to our rescue. We are so glad we were a pit stop on your ride recently and that the pups got to thank you in person.

You travel so many miles for rescue even outside of this annual ride to support events and transport. We are thankful to have you on our team. Our rescue is so lucky to have you!

I am Minnie Mouse. As you can see, I am quite a beautiful and sophisticated lady. HAHAHAHAHA. If you think that, I have fooled you! Inside my ladylike and elegant figure is a wild kitten waiting to race around the house and play madly with whatever I can find. I am also very smart. If i see a cat carrier out, I am going to hide so make a plan if you think you are taking me somewhere. I work hard to outsmart my foster mom and I usually succeed. You also need to know that it may take awhile to earn my trust. I love my foster mom and I will let her hold me and pet me, but she will tell you that it took some effort. My heart is not all that easy to win. But once I love you, I will be a wonderful pet. I am hoping for a forever home with other animals for me to play with and a patient human or two that will give me time and space....and a treat or two ....and a wand toy.

He is in a local pound and has until Friday 4:45pm for his owner to claim him or to find a foster home.

He is 51 lbs and very friendly. We do not know any further information, as the pound is limited staff.

Also needing foster are Keaton, Farley or Humphrey so we can open a kennel run at A Place Called Home.

Russ continues to be a (big) fluffy sweetie pie. He plays so well with our other dogs, both big and little, and loves to sit outside with our kids and entertain himself with toys or just watch the kids play on the swing set while getting some scratches and pets from whoever is closest to him. He has figured out where he’s supposed to “do his business” so walks on the leash over to that part of the yard and gets it done so he can get back to hanging out with the family. Russ is growing every day and will be a BIG boy, so he’s working very hard on learning leash manners and learning to sit when he wants attention or to go somewhere instead of jumping or pawing. This cuddle bug is going to make the perfect addition to a home where he keeps working on his manners and gets plenty of time to snuggle!

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… where did this kitten come from? Bermuda is quite the little acrocat. Her favorite trick is climbing onto a perch and leaping onto her foster mom’s shoulder. The element of surprise is very important; sometimes you won’t even see her until she’s on your shoulder, purring in your ear and nuzzling your face.

In addition to being talented, Bermuda is also very sweet and very silly. She LOVES attention but doesn’t hold still for long, so her cuddles involve a lot of flopping and rolling around in your lap.

At the end of July we reached out to the community for help with pound dogs that needed rescue. One of the new fosters we were able to recruit opened up her heart and home to Rocky.

Rocky was a gem and did great with her dog and cat. Unfortunately, she had a family emergency and needed to leave the state to be with her family. Another foster took over temporarily fostering Rocky, but we were still looking for a permanent foster until he was adopted. Meanwhile, Rocky settled in and shined in his foster home.

As we shared how wonderful Rocky is, others began seeing that too. We are happy to announce that Rocky is on to the next part of his journey, his furever home! Congratulations Rocky!

Hi! My name is Missy!

I am a German Shepherd who loves my foster fur sisters! We can run and play for hours and then crash in my kennel or right on the couch. I do whine and bark a little when foster mom and dad leave. I have even won over the two felines in the house. They weren't too sure at first, I didn't know my boundaries and have a lot of puppy energy.

Foster mom and dad say I am a very smart girl who knows how to sit, we are working on stay and shake now. They say I am a very good girl!
