A Virginian pilot volunteering for Pilots N Paws was flying a Mooney M20J when it crashed Sunday killing the pilot and one dog on impact while injuring the two remaining dogs.

💔 this was not the outcome we all wished for, but when this pup was in need everyone involved jumped into action to try and save her!
It reminded me of why we do what we do! This makes my voice even stronger for those who don't have one! Rest in Peace sweet girl.

🌈 From the local rescue who stepped in to help: It is with great sadness that we inform you we had to let this sweet pup cross the rainbow bridge humanely, as per the recommendation of the vet at BEVS. After much testing, it was determined she more than likely ingested antifreeze and the extent of the neurological and kidney damage she suffered, made it impossible for us to save her. This is not the outcome we were hoping for, but we can find comfort in knowing she passed knowing love, warmth and safety, in her final hours. That would not have been possible without your generosity to cover the emergent medical care. We want to extend a thank you to each and every one of you who donated and sent healing thoughts. We also want to thank Sara Jean Currier who graciously stepped up to assist in bringing her to BEVS and showing her the love and compassion she deserved in her final moments. It truly takes a Village. 🌈
