It’s nearing Fall Ya’ll! Cooler days are close, get out the fall decor, and the warm foods.

Here are some safe yummy foods that have healthy benefits for your food motivated critters, all in moderation of course!
1. Butternut squash-a small cooked portion is full of vitamins and hefty dose of fiber
2. Pumpkin-rich in fiber and beta carotene, a sugarless dose can help picky eaters love their food
3. Sweet potatoes-make sure they are COOKED. these are rich in vitamin A, Vitamin C, and calcium.

Here are some tips to keep your fur babies safe.
1. Check your chip/ID: make sure your contact information is up to date
2. Provide a safe space: make it cozy with lots of environmental enrichment and music to help drown out of the noise
3. No Bones or BBQ: bones can be a choking hazard and table scraps can make your pet sick
4. Keep doors closed: pets get spooked with the loud noises, best to keep them inside!

Did you know……
That just like in people, blood transfusions can save a dog or cats life? We are so blessed to have a HEALTHY and DIVERSE pool of blood donors that donate blood for patients in need on a regular and rotating schedule just like our amazing technician Kaycee and our donor Borzoi Rowyn. The cats and dogs are monitored regularly with routine blood work, heartworm testing, and receive all their preventative care annually. During the donation process, they’re carefully monitored under light sedation by attentive staff and then receive lots of cuddles when they recover.

Veterinary Emergency at Monument View always has blood products on hand for those emergent situations and all those in our donor program feel so much gratitude to be able to provide for our community.

Veterinary Emergency at Monument View is open, starting tonight from 6pm-8am for the next 4 days. Don’t hesistate to contact us at 970-644-5552 if you are experiencing a pet emergency. Our trained and dedicated staff will be able to assist you and your pet swiftly.

Our amazing staff at Veterinary Emergency at Monument View helped Girl Scout Troop 16209 earn their Pets Badge by hosting them at our clinic and talking about all different kinds of pets, their care, and the dangerous situations that require immediate attention!
It was an evening filled with baby chicks, dogs, cats, and yes---a goat! We looked at radiographs of broken bones and put on our surgery thinking caps (sometimes it feels like it!) Our staff loved educating bright young minds and possibly the next future generation of veterinarians/veterinary technicians.

We loved the sweet Thank You cards the girls decorated.

This handsome boy visited the Veterinary Emergency At Monument View for getting into an unknown amount of salt and he fell in love with our wonderful technician Jaz!

Did you know large salt intake can cause the sodium level in the body to rise within a couple of hours and cause vomiting, lethargy, weakness, diarrhea, muscle tremors and seizures.

If your pet has ingested large amounts of salt, contact your veterinarian. Your pet may need to have blood work and other supportive care to prevent or help signs!

Veterinary Emergency at Monument View is open Friday-Monday 6pm-8am for your urgent pets needs!
