🐰 Hi from Western Colorado!
I’m the rabbit lover behind Grand Flops, a small, intentional rabbitry in Grand Junction where I raise Mini Plush Lops—a rare, velvety-soft breed known for their sweet, cuddly personalities and floppy ears.

I started Grand Flops after years of raising other breeds and falling in love with the temperament of these gentle rabbits. My focus is on raising calm, emotionally connected companions that are handled daily, fed a natural diet, and raised with care both indoors and out.

Weekly Bunny Checkups at Grand Flops

This is a picture of my girl Flurry, who is patiently letting me check her teeth.

Every week, I give each bunny a gentle check-up to keep them healthy and happy! I look at nails (are they getting too long? any injury?), and I check their overall body condition — have they gained or lost weight? How’s their fur and skin looking?

I also peek at their eyes, ears, nose, teeth to make sure everything is clean and healthy. We finish up with some pets and a treat — always the best part! 💕🐰

It’s a simple routine that helps me catch any issues early and keeps my bunnies thriving.

🌙 Bedtime Love 🌙

Just as the stars came out and it was time to close his door, little Ludo had one request:

“Just one more pet, please.”

So I gave him a few more soft strokes, and he leaned in with all his heart.

Because some days end best with a little extra love… and a bunny who isn’t quite ready to say goodnight. 🐇💤✨

Plush Mini Lop vs. Mini Plush Lop — What's the Difference?

We see it often — people refer to their rabbits as “plush Mini Lops,” usually meaning their Mini Lop has a very soft coat. But did you know Mini Plush Lop is actually the name of an entirely different breed in the making?

💡 The Mini Plush Lop is a distinct breed, originally created by Devie D'Anniballe in the U.S. beginning in 1995. She set out to combine the best of three beloved breeds: ✔️ The small size and lopped ears of the Holland Lop
✔️ The incredibly soft, velvety coat of the Mini Rex
✔️ The laid-back, cuddly personality often found in Mini Lops

The result? A compact, sweet-natured rabbit with a plush, low-maintenance coat and a love for human interaction — a true companion bunny! 🥰

So while a “plush Mini Lop” might be a Mini Lop with a great coat, the Mini Plush Lop is a whole new breed — selectively developed for temperament, size, and that signature soft fur.

Why I’m Head Over Heels for Mini Plush Lops

I’ve had the joy of sharing life with many rabbit breeds over the years — Dwarf Hotot, Mini Rex, Dutch, Holland Lops, English Lop, Velveteen, Californians, and some lovely little mixes. Each one brought something special to the table. But nothing compares to the Mini Plush Lop. 💛🐇

These bunnies are in a league of their own.

✨ Sweet as sugar
✨ Cuddly by choice, not just by size
✨ Eager to bond with their humans
✨ So easy to handle — because they want the connection

They don’t just tolerate being held... they lean into it. 🥹
