At 5 weeks old kinder was abandoned in a hotel room and came to stay with our family
Upon coming into our home he had worms pretty bad and also struggled with being under weight and some food aggression towards our other dog

We got his worms taken care of and threw a lot of work he can now eat with our other dog without trying to attack guard his food or take food from the other bowl

When we initially took kinder in we weren’t looking to add another dog to our household and have figured out with his breed he needs entirely more than what we can provide

He is now 6 months old and needs room to run and would greatly benefit from a job his Harding instincts show anytime he tries to play with our dog and others

Kinder is fully vaccinated including his Lepto as well as being neutered.
He is suspected to be hound/cattle dog mix

It is a hard decision to make. But we feel it is best
He has been around kids and does great although being young he still is very very hyper and full of energy!

Out of the five puppies that we rescued four of them passed away. The vet said they did not have a very good start. Between us and Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary we all tried really hard. Barkley is one of the puppies that survived. He is doing amazing. Thank you, Deb for helping us.

Wow I’m so lost with no words we put up a post asking for help with the rescue dogs we have and we get Mesa county called on us. Saying we have skinny dogs. This is why we don’t ask for help. I can’t believe people turn a good thing into something bad.

I just want people to know when you take in rescues that somebody else cannot afford to take care of or their homeless or they’re coming out of a domestic violence situation. As a rescue, we have to provide everything for that animal their vaccines, spay or neuter checkup housing food and water bowls love a place to run and play safety. If they are sick, if there is something wrong with them, RUFF Around The Edges provides everything for them. Their insulin their medication. If they have anxiety, we comfort, them we work with the vet and we do everything we can to help them have a better life. If they’re aggressive, we work with the behavior so they can be adopted out. Every animal that comes to our facility is treated like our own. we have some dogs that we own personally now because they will never be adopted out due to their behaviors. We do everything we can to save every single animal.

Just an update
we want to thank everybody that’s been helping out with dog food. It has been such a blessing to get help to support the animals. JM aquatics has jumped in and donated enough food to fit in my trunk. Thank you to the wonderful people reaching out and wanting to help us and making the phone calls to make all of this happen. There is a lot of good people in this community that still love animals and want to help for the right purpose. Running a rescue is very hard, financially and emotionally overwhelming. When you get a little bit of help from the community it makes you feel like you’re not doing this all on your own. This definitely eases the stress. There has been so many times that we have gone to Sam’s Club wondering how we were going to do it. With the help from the community we know that our babies will be able to eat without the stress it has brought on us the past few months.

I need help!
I worked at a rescue as one of the stepping stones to my career right after the two years I spent learning how to take on the title of being a dog trainer.
It was becuase of working in that rescue that I wanted to be a part of that great work.
I waited until things were good enough with the business to be able to support my own rescue. Just like all the ways we connected to help this community I wanted to be able to fund those activities on my own or with as little help as I can get from the community. Why is becuase I believe to help someone it means to sacrifice what you have or could have for the bennefit of the person or people you are helping.
I finally was able to reach a position where I could fund a rescue on my own.
The first time I called for help an organization had me heading to Sam’s club to pick up a truck load of dog food.
During Christmas a local businesses employees came together and donated us a lot of things to help the rescue continue and it filled my heart becuase we really needed it both times.
My dream was to never be in a position that I had to ask for help becuase I wanted to be the one that could always help others when they asked for it.
But I’m in that position now and it’s teaching me a lot about life and how to be humble and that okay to need to ask for help.
I do need help for my little rescue and hopefully soon I will be able to be back on my feet and fund it on my own again but at this time I can really use any help I can get to care for these critters. I am lessening the number we have and turning away people by not taking on anymore hopefully I don’t have to stop that branch of my work completely.
I hope to be able to go even further than I had before. I sm looking into grants but for now I need to ask the community for any help they can give. Dog food is the main help we need more than anything of course these guys like to eat it’s their favorite time of day.
You can call us,message or just come drop something off at the door we will even come to you if you can help but can’t get to us.
Thank you so much for any help you can give us and for reading this really long post😃
Our number is (970)424-8616
Thanks again!
Lance

I do apologize to people that have been contacting us over the bark in the park. We have canceled it until June due to shortness staffing and vendors. We will be doing it in June. I’m not sure why it didn’t update the change but again we are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. This has caused anyone.

RUFF Around The Edges helps out a lot with people that are going through some type of struggle in their life drug addiction, alcohol, homeless. We take in their animals so they can go to treatment and better their lives at no cost. Does anybody know if there’s programs out there that would help for something like this? We can no longer afford to keep doing this. We want to continue helping people but financially it’s taking a toll on us. The outcome of the program is amazing. People do turn their lives around. I am on my way to take a lady to detox. Her husband passed away in a car accident, and she became addicted to alcohol. She’s crying out for help. She needs us to care for her animals. Please let me know if there’s something out there. Thank you
