We’ve been getting to know some wonderful and BEAUTIFUL snakes that we would like to introduce to you all! 🐍🐍🐍
This group of reptiles includes two Kenyan sand boas, one black milk snake, one Mexican black king snake, two ball pythons, a carpet python, two children’s pythons and a spotted python.
There are a few minor medical concerns that will be addressed, but these guys and gals are settling in and doing very well.
They all came to us with names and we are excited to get to know their individual personalities. We snapped some photos, did intake examinations, and now they are getting some time to relax and settle in. 🩷

This young Russian tortoise was in his enclosure when a pit bull broke through the top, pulled him out, and chewed on him. He was evaluated by a vet soon after and treatment was started right away but they ultimately decided that they wanted us to continue his care in house. His treatment involves keeping the exposed bone clean, using prescription cream on his wounds, a round of antibiotics, pain meds, and proper husbandry to promote shell growth. He has a long road ahead but we’re grateful that there wasn’t any damage done to his limbs or other soft tissue. 🩷🐢

Buddy the bearded dragon is coming up on three months at the rescue. He arrived early August with hardened infection in his eye cavities that protruded from his head. He has been a difficult case with his advanced eye infections as well as other issues that we’ve been tackling but today was a turning point!
We have been force feeding this dragon for 10 weeks starting with a liquid diet and then graduating to force feeding live bugs which has been a stressful task for both us and Buddy. He has refused to eat on his own since the day he arrived but today was the day he decided to eat multiple bugs all on his own!! 🙌🏼🩵
We are SO relieved that he not only still has vision, but that he no longer has to go through being force fed to stay alive. Hopefully this is a turning point for him and we can put some weight on those bones. Go Buddy, Go! 💕

Peanut Butters energy has really sky rocketed today! He’s all over the place! 😂 Still not much of an appetite but we’re hopeful he’ll be feeling good enough for food soon. ❤️‍🩹

Melvin was NOT a fan of his pumpkin. Too similar in resemblance? Maybe. But it did make for a “cute” picture! 🎃

We are looking for experienced bearded dragon owners who are interested in adding a special needs dragon to your home! ❤️🏠
First, we have Melvin who is spunky and full of energy. He has a misshaped jaw due to metabolic bone disease which gives him the cutest smile. He is missing his front foot and tail tip but he gets around very well. He had some respiratory symptoms when he arrived which have resolved with antibiotics. He loves to explore and hunt bugs in his enclosure.
Second, is Peanut! He has gained so much weight and strength since he first arrived. He has some more extensive MBD and has a some trouble with mobility which is improving with proper care. He needs a diet packed with calcium and a strong UVB light to help his bones develop properly moving forward.

Miss Lucinda has been here for two months and she’s improving daily! 🫶🏼 Lucinda was with her family for seven years until she ended up getting sick and losing all of her body mass after she stopped eating and became lethargic. When she arrived back in August she was stiff and she didn’t move a muscle other than her eyes for days. She had sunken fat pads and eyes and her beard was black. Those three physical signs in combination almost always means that we are riding the fine line of life and death with a bearded dragon. We thought that we would give her a comfy place to pass with love and warmth but after a lot of work she has beat all the odds and she is gaining more strength every day. After the first month she finished her antibiotics and she was placed with a foster to gain weight. It didn’t end up working out so she’s back here to stay while we pack on the grams and help this gal feel her best. She’s been eating 10+ bugs every day and she climbed up on top of her wooden hide for the first time today. 🥹 Photo of the day she arrived in the comments! 🧡 Video of yummy snacks for dinner!🪳

We want to send a HUGE thank you to Kat for making the 4 hour round trip to pick up this iguana and get him to us. He is in extremely rough shape and we will have more on that later, but for now we are so happy he’s here with food in his belly. 💗
