With a saddened heart we share the news that one of our furry friends, mouse, passed away.
As you all know, we take care of dogs.
But in the case of mouse, we were Katie’s Felines.

Mouse was the sweetest, most loving cat ever. Whenever Mouse’s sister sprinkles would come and stay, we would always close off the upstairs of the house and let mouse have free reign. He would either be sitting at the window looking at everything going on outside, or he would be sleeping. His mom would pack the most fun treats, toys, and different wet foods for him, so he always had a variety of tasty meals.
Mouse passed away at 21 years old. He was with his mom, Liz, for over 10 of those years and she gave him the absolute best life.
We will miss you mouse and know you’re enjoying the endless catnip in heaven 💚

Guess who’s here for the next week while his family is on vacation?!

WACO!!!!

He was so happy when he got here his family almost couldn’t contain him lol. We have been looking forward to his visit for a while now, and can’t wait to have the best week ever with him!

For those who don’t know Waco’s story- (attached is the interview we did for the news and the pictures of him back in 2021!)
I rescued him in 2021 from a campground in Holland. The woman who had him spilled burning chemicals on his back and left his wounds untreated. 2 weeks later I got possession of him and spent the next 6 months rehabbing him with the help of the most incredible veterinarians and medical professionals at Eastown Veterinary Clinic. After he fully healed physically and emotionally, I carefully selected the Blattners to be his adoptive family and he has been living the best life with them and his 2 doggy siblings ❤️

We said goodbye for now to Piper yesterday (far right) as she embarks on a new journey to Texas with her mom and dad! Her mom’s mom and dad both had a medical emergency in the last week and they are leaving right away to care for them.
Piper has been a special girl to us, we were part of her rescue/rehome in 2022. She sure hit the jackpot with her mom, Payton and dad, Clayton. They opened their home and were so patient and kind, and took her in as their soul dog. Her dad mentioned multiple times that having Piper has helped him overcome a lot of the depression he’d struggled with. 🫶🏼
We can’t wait to see her when she’s back visiting, and we wish her family all of the best and will continue to pray for them all, and will always be here for them! 🩷

Did you know Birdie is a rescue!?
Out of the thousands of dogs I have met over the years, she might be the most gentle loving soul, with the sweetest temperament towards all people and all animals.

Yet did you know there was a time where she had no home?
Did you know she was found tied up at a campground, and then sat in a shelter for over a year down south? Passed over every single day? Yet she stayed strong and didn’t give up hope.

She was finally brought to Michigan with the BISSELL Pet Foundation on a plane full of other dogs who needed to be placed and she was the ONLY dog left without a foster or home to go to.
That’s when our amazing client Caitlin, who was working as a volunteer for the Bissell transport (they have Dunkin, the best boy ever who had been coming to us for over a year at this time) agreed to take her home and foster her.
And of course, they foster failed because she truly is one of the best dogs in the world.

If everyone who doubts shelter dogs or has reservations about bully breeds could meet birdie and spend one day with her I promise you, their opinions would change about them.
Until then we will do our part in sharing rescue dogs stories and encourage as many people who are willing and interested to foster, and rescue, volunteer, or advocate for them.
You will not regret it 🩷

Welcome Noodle to the Katie’s K9 family!
We had the pleasure of hosting him for his first daycare day in preparation for his upcoming boarding visit & we couldn’t have adored him more!
He was SO well mannered and behaved and loved wrestling and chasing with Oakley, Raya, Katie and Jerry! We can’t wait to see you soon for your sleepover, Noodle! 💜🍜

We had the pleasure of watching Teddy for the first time last week for daycare! He LOVED playing chase in the yard with Charlotte and Luna. He was such a good boy we enjoyed him so much. We can’t wait to have him come back for another play day soon! 💙
