The second and final clutch of the season was laid today! This was my most anticipated pairing so far and my official first (of many) genetic stripes. CBE golden-eye genetic stripe x redhead Marter Super stripe! I took a quick photo before pulling the eggs. 9 total and all look fertile. Some have weaker vein structure so hopefully they'll all go full term.

33 days after the post-ovulation shed. **EDIT** 19 eggs total, 7 slugs and 12 fertile. This was my second pairing with Tony, my redhead Marter with the funky pattern. No guarantees that I'll actually get anything "banded" but that's part of the fun! It's going to be a long 55-65 days. Tony (the sire) is pictured second.

Sexing blood pythons is extremely difficult...... period. Even the most seasoned breeders will and do misidentify their stock. Having gone through this scenario more times than I like to admit I feel it's somewhat important for new and upcoming breeders to realize this. The point is to remember that we (breeders) are only human. Most STP breeders that I interact with have only the best intentions to help, guide, even provide quality animals from.... and I think that's what sets us apart from the rest of the reptile hobby/community. Luckily for me this scenario will not hamper my original pairings for this season, but for those that it does affect please remember that sexing bloods is literally a 50/50 shot no matter who you get your stock from.

Putting a few more 2024 babies up on MM. Pretty sure most (if not all) of the Golden-eyes will be Redheads.. Extremely subtle but I can see some blushing starting to develop on them.. I work with the babies daily, very easy to handle and they are all eating FT! PM for any additional info!
