Beginning August 1st we instituted a deposit requirement for reservations.

We have created verbiage on our booking site at checkout to inform clients and have also included the language in our pet care contract.

We understand that life changes on a whim, and while deposits are non-refundable, we are happy to apply any deposits paid to rescheduled dates no problem.

Pet Sitter’s are there to serve you when you need them the most. Whether it's leisure vacations or family bereavement. Sometimes pet parents just want to make sure they have a Sitter lined up "just in case" they decide to travel. This is the reason we require deposits, we want pet parents to be serious about their reservations as Sitter’s often change their own plans to be available for our clients.

We understand not everyone likes changes, but as we grow in our small business changes such as this are necessary.

We have a previous client who has become very upset about this change, and while I've offered to help move their deposit to a new rescheduled date, they have chosen to end communication with us and take out their frustrations by leaving negative reviews everywhere they can.

We respect their space and right to leave reviews, and we trust that those who have been with us since the beginning understand that we're not malicious or trying to deliberately inconvenience anyone.

We stand committed to home-based care, understanding that kennel facilities aren't the best option for every pet. We're here to serve clients who appreciate our Sitter’s opening their homes to pet's, when they cannot be there.❤️🐾

Introducing "Schmitty the cat"! He became our 1st Creative Feline client this Summer. His folks hired us for drop-in visits, against his wishes 🤣 He was unenthused to see us each day, but put up with us anyway. Once he was fed and had his litter cleaned he seemed to approve of us. Isn't he the cutest little guy?😍🐈

First, it was just me. 1 year later as an official company and now...meet the Creative Canine Pet Services team 🙌🏽 We had our Fall meet-up, shared stories, had snacks, and went over our new Pet Care Pro Guide. I feel like I could write a book on pet sitting having 7 years in the field. Feeling grateful to have such amazing humans joining this mission to provide home-based care. Animals do not have psychological safety in large kennel facilities. We're here to give them a home away from home.

This afternoon, we were summoned to a residential location on the west side of the city to provide pickup services. Upon arrival, we found two canines that appeared to have been abandoned for several days. Each room was contaminated with dog waste, and both animals were severely infested with fleas, confined to a small bathroom. The individual requesting our services did not disclose that the owner had abandoned the animals days prior. We are thankful for the referral, as it enabled us to report this incident to the relevant authorities, adhering to our moral obligation to report suspected animal abuse.

‼️PARVOVIRUS‼️

Canine Parvovirus is baaaaaad right now. We have had 4 cases in the last month and a half, affecting about 30 dogs (most were litters of puppies) in the shelter. These pups came in as strays with the virus already brewing in their system and breaking with clinical signs about a week later. Luckily, we contained it to just the initially effected cages. Phew. Are we stressed out and panic any time we see vomit and bloody diarrhea in a cage... you know it! We've also had numerous owned dogs come in due to being ill, and the owners chose not to treat or couldn't afford treatment.

We have treated these cases and have had a decent survival rate. Some dogs even made it through treatment, and we're adopted before the area they lived in was off their quarantine period.

Parvovirus is so highly contagious & can be spread so easily that your dog does not even need to leave their yard to contract this disease & you the owner can take it home on the bottom of your shoes or on your clothing. The most common places for contraction of parvo are dog parks, communial potty areas in housing developments, and pet stores. Unvacinated dogs should not visit these areas until the full series of vaccinations is complete. We know it's cute to go get your new puppy a fancy collar and treats, but unfortunately, it's just not safe.

Dogs, who are puppies & not had their full course of vaccinations, as well as younger dogs who are not vaccinated at all, are most at risk of contracting this horrible disease. If left untreated, the pet generally passes.
