This , we’re excited to introduce Susan, a Licensed Veterinary Technician and our Reproductive Team Lead! 🐾

Susan has been a valued part of Family Friends for 15 years, bringing her expertise to areas like breeding, pregnancy management, c-sections, and neonate care. Susan often works behind the scenes in our in-house lab, and enjoys anything pathology related from intestinal parasites to cytology 🔬

When she’s not caring for pets, Susan enjoys nature walks with her two Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retriever, and family time with her husband and daughter. She’s also known for her playful side, often keeping her coworkers on their toes with pranks (like jumping out of a box) 😂

Over the years, Susan’s dedication and knowledge have been instrumental in shaping the care we provide here at FFVH. Her commitment to both her patients and her team has left a lasting impact on our hospital, ensuring better outcomes for pets and peace of mind for clients. 🐾 Welcome Wednesday: This Week’s Fabulous New Faces! 🐾

We’re thrilled to introduce an extra special lineup of pets this week at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital! From tiny kittens with big personalities to cuddle-ready pups, these newcomers made our week.

🐱 Aspen & Olive – These gorgeous kittens, Aspen and Olive, stole the show! Found in a bucket at just 2 weeks old, they’ve been living the good life ever since. Full of attitude and cuteness, they were the highlight of everyone’s day!

🐾 Dachshund Puppies – Say hello to Oscar, Valentina, Pepper, and Bo! These four little ones came in for their exams, bringing all the snuggles. They’re beyond adorable, and their cuddly energy was contagious.

💻 Joseph Pastel “JP” – Meet our newest “CSR-in-training,” a kitten named JP! JP may be little and still learning the ropes, but he’s giving it his best shot. He’s got plenty of enthusiasm (and cat naps!) to carry him through.

🌸 Miss Daisy – This cutie came in for her next round of puppy vaccines and won everyone over! She even had a “Best Girl” talk with Olivia and was showered with attention from our tech team.

🐱 Karra – An 8-month-old Sphynx and a brand-new member of our employee pet family! Her mom, Sharee, is a CSR here at FFVH, and Karra joined us in style with a cozy pink sweater. Sweet and charming, Karra kept everyone smiling.

Happy Veterinary Practice Manager Appreciation Week! 🎉 Today’s is dedicated to our amazing Practice Manager, Jessica (JP)! 💼🐾

Jessica has been in the veterinary field since 2012, and at Family Friends since 2017. Over the years, she has been fortunate enough to form relationships with many clients and squish all of the animal faces (when they tolerate). Though her passion for animals is what brough her to the veterinary field, her love of growth and supporting her team and hospital has helped her in becoming the Practice Manager.

Outside of work, she spends time with her teenage son and array of cats and dogs ❤️ She also loves attending concerts, crocheting, reading and working out in her yard.

While she loves seeing all of the animals, she also appreciates taking the time with clients to work through any concerns and hear the good reviews.

We’re so grateful to have a Practice Manager whose dedication and hard work behind the scenes keep FFVH running smoothly every day. From supporting our staff through many changes, to building relationships with clients and their pets, Jessica is so important to our hospital!

This time of year, Ticks are worse than ever! As temperatures drop, pet owners should continue to give their pets monthly preventatives and do tick checks after playing in the leaves or heavily wooded areas.

Durk, also known as “Zach Morris,” is a 2-year-old Shepherd/Heinz 57 mix with the biggest, brightest smile that’ll melt your heart! This lovable guy is all about fun and adventure, bringing pure joy wherever he goes. His foster describes him as a gentle giant who doesn’t realize he’s a big dog—a cuddle bug through and through!

Durk is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He does well with other dogs and older, respectful children. Plus, he's neutered and up-to-date on all his vaccines! His adoption fee is $250. 🌸 Rosa – An 8-week-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who stole our hearts during her new puppy exam! This sweet girl loved every snuggle and hug, and we were more than happy to give them.
🐾 Maggie– A 1-year-old Pitbull mix with a heart of gold. Maggie was recently adopted from Capital Area Humane Society and is here to start her journey to a healthy future. She came in to establish care and start her heartworm treatment, and we already adore her!
🐱 Apollo – This 15-week-old Maine C**n kitten joined his new family last week and came in for his very first visit. Such a majestic little fluffball, he made an unforgettable first impression!
💙 Franklin – Our little 15-week-old Dachshund pup who came in for his next round of vaccines! He’s quite the cuddle bug and gave everyone endless puppy kisses—just the best!
🧡 Leo Parker– A 5-month-old Portuguese Water Dog, here for a booster with Dr. Marcia. Leo’s side-eye game is strong, but he’s one of the friendliest pups we’ve met. Fluffy and fabulous!
🐾 Koby – An 11-week-old Pitbull pup full of feistiness and cuteness. He was quite the character, especially when Dr. Walker tried to listen to his heart! 😆
🐶 Cooper– This tiny 9-week-old Dachshund came in for his very first check-up, weighing in at a whopping 3.6 lbs! We’re so excited to see him grow up with his loving new family.
❤️ Mr. Red – Part of Splash’s Litter of 10 Golden Retriever puppies! All of these little ones came in for their first exams and vaccines, behaving like champs. By the end, they were all cozied up for a nap, tuckered out from the excitement.

It's time for Meet the Team Monday, and another chance to highlight one of our incredible team members here at Family Friends. Meet Brook!

Brook is originally from Coldwater Michigan. She also lived in Wisconsin for 3 years before moving back here to Freeport Michigan where she graduated from high school. She then spent a year at Ferris State University before switching to Central Michigan University where she graduated and earned a bachelor's degree in biology.

Brook's pets include two aquatic turtles named Nemo and Squirt🐢🐢She also has a Shih Tzu puppy named Bella Raye 🐶 In her free time, she loves spending time with friends and family and horseback riding.

The thing she loves most about her job is working with animals and helping make them feel better. She has always had a passion for animals and knew vet medicine was in her future 🐾 She loves how at home she feels here at Family Friends and loves getting to know both clients and patients!

We are so happy to have Brook on our team, and know that our clients enjoy her warm, compassionate bedside manner during their visits.
