Charging back to the West Side like

After a few months east of the river, we are at a new location, at 450 Leonard!

More details on our last post but: we love new host locations. And EVEN MORE, we love the new faces who often show up with each new neighborhood and location we visit.

If you are thinking of joining us tomorrow in the West Grand neighborhood, please do! Here’s what you can expect:

• 6am start time (though drop by at 6.45 if you just want to catch 2m run or coffee)

• We go over all info you need and all introduce ourselves briefly before a photo

• We’re off for a 1.5m walk or 3m run at the pace that is comfortable to you. Runners don’t all stick together in one pack but encourage everyone to run with a buddy, and there will be someone behind you the whole way!

• Once we’re all back, we do some community announcements and then on to coffee, an extra 2m run, or whatever your day holds

is always free of cost and we want you to feel free, included, and supported when you’re with us. See many of you in the morning on the West Side!

Our Lyon Street After Dark events happen monthly and usually on the third Thursday of the month. Stay tuned for February's event - announcement coming soon!

We're pretty sure this is record low attendance (at least since 2018 or 2019). Thanks for staying home and staying safe today, and thanks to Andy for running with us! And thank you to for opening today, please show them some love if you live in the neighborhood or are passing by!

Swipe for the "after" picture, and we hope to see you when it's warmer out, either this Thursday evening at our After Dark event (see recent post) or a future Tuesday morning run.

On a more serious note, we acknowledge that many of you may have some strong emotions after the inauguration yesterday. We are here for you and want to reaffirm that we are an inclusive, supportive, and free space, as we have been for nearly seven years and will continue to be - no matter who occupies the halls of power. Our commitment to building community does not waver, and the work is never done.

It’s Monday, but Tuesday’s coming! 🖤

Which means our weekly run/walk, socializing, and coffee after if you choose!

This month we’re Fulton Street. Whether this will be your first time with us, first in a long time, fifth, or fiftieth, we’d love to see you out braving the cold and making friends with us.

What you can expect:

• 6am start time: we introduce ourselves briefly, and give quick info about the flow for the morning

• Then we either walk 1.5 miles in a group or run 3 miles at your preferred effort and pace (we have a wide range, encourage running with others > running alone, and there will be someone behind you the whole way); routes are in our stories

• After we’re all back, we do quick announcements and break for coffee, departure, or an extra 2 mile run (note: you can totally show up just in time for any of this at around 6.45!)

If mornings aren’t great for you, we got you: see our previous post about this month’s After Dark event on 1/23!

We're in that week where nobody really knows what day it is, so here's your reminder that tomorrow is Tuesday!

Join us for the 53rd and final Tuesday morning run of 2024 tomorrow - yes, New Year's Eve! Meet us at 6 am at in Eastown, where we'll do brief introductions, go over the route and safety information, snap a picture, and get moving. Run (3 mile) or walk (1.5 mile), community announcements, an optional extra 2 mile run (or meet us at 6:45 for just that if you want to sleep in), and of course, coffee and bagels after.

We'll also be announcing next month's location. Please be sure to wear reflective gear and lights as it's pretty dark out there. Well-behaved pups are always welcome, as are new runners. Questions? DM us or drop a comment below!

This month’s guest co-captain was ! Thank you to Abbey for taking on the mantle this week and keeping things fun and festive on a cold and slippery Christmas Eve run!

Abbey started running with us about a year and a half ago and quickly became a regular at our Tuesday runs, Lyon Street After Dark events, and other local run club meetups. On Tuesday, Abbey told us that before getting into the community, she thought running was elitist and demanding. We’re so glad she showed up to give us a try, and is now contributing to giving running a different, more social and welcoming connotation.

Some fun facts about Abbey!

1. She has two dogs, Bucky and Keko (who we love to see on the route too) 🐕
2. Besides running, she loves to read and lift and go to the beach 📚 🏋🏻‍♀️ 🏖️
3. If she could live in one season, it would be summer 😎
4. Her fave LSRC host location to date: 🏮☕️

We’re so lucky to have Abbey’s leadership in the group. Stop by on an upcoming Tuesday to get to know fabulous humans of like Abbey.

Tomorrow is a Tuesday and, whether or not it is a holiday for you, we’re still going to be out there running and walking (and occasionally waiting at stoplights)!

Meet us at 6am for quick info and overview, then a 1.5 mile walk or 3 mile run, community announcements and then bagels, extra miles, peacing out, or any combination thereof. We will have a special guest co-captain holding it down for us tomorrow! We’ll keep things chill and festive.

If you have loved ones in town visiting, bring em—you know we always love visitors!
