❗️❕❗️update on Facebook fundraisers ❗️❕❗️

Good news: A great big THANK YOU going out to all who have hosted Facebook/Meta fundraisers for us. We have received a lot of donations this way over the years and we cannot tell you how much that means to us! Every dollar helps!

Bad News: We have had many followers that are unhappy that they haven't received a thank you from Great Tails for a fundraiser they created on our behalf. We are deeply saddened to have to turn this way of fundraising off, but this is what we have to do at this time. There is no way for us to thank every individual for making a fundraiser on behalf of us. These fundraisers are handled by a 3rd party so we do not get notifications when they are created, and we are just unable to view what we need to in order to make thank yous possible.

If you'd like to make a donation, we'd ask that you send in a check with a note to our address 201 NW 4th Street, Suite 200, Grand Rapids, MN, 55744. We will make sure to send a thank you!

Sneak peak of Roger! Look at this stunning boy! Roger will be available after his neuter and recovery scheduled for January 14th. He is a 1 1/2 year old 50 pound collie mix.

From his foster: Roger is super sweet and well behaved. He will talk to you in excitement. He is kennel trained both indoor and outdoors. He is very smart and wants to please. He gets along well with our dogs and cats.

Miss Mouse was adopted today!! Mouse is the 31st furry friend to be adopted in the month of December!! That is one a day!! Yahooooooo! What a month we had. Thanks so much to the Great Tails team that makes all these adoptions happen. We are thrilled to see what is to come this year for us and unbelievably thankful for all the homes found in 2024.

How has Snowflake not been adopted in December for the 50$ reduced rate?? Look at this pretty girl! She is 6, spayed and up to date on shots! Like most cats, she needs some time and patience when finding her forever home, but is as sweet as can be when she gets comfortable!

From the foster: Snowflake is the sweetest girl and has the most beautiful yellow eyes! She has come a long way from hiding under the bed for 3 weeks with her 2 babies to calling out tiny locator "mews" to find you. She will hang out in the same room you are in, including sleeping in the same room or on the bed and most recently, snuggling under the covers (even if it's only for 2 minutes). She will turn up her nose at wet food in exchange for pets. She loves playing with her treat-dispensing toys, watching the birds and squirrels outside, and has discovered the wonderful world of catnip 🙂 She would love to find a loving home that can give her the space and has the patience to let her warm up to you. She loves all pets and I imagine she would be good with kids. Gets along with other cats, if introduced slowly. Not sure about other animals. She was spayed 12/18.

Update 1/3 adopted - We have great news!! Bella's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor!! When Maizie was sponsored they paid the full adoption fee just incase she wasn't adopted in December. Maizie was adopted in December so we have more funding for Bella's fee! Yay!!! Bella needs patience and time to calm her nerves to acclimate to a new place.

From the foster: Bella takes a little while to warm up to you but once she does, she's very sweet. She is 5 years old, declawed, fixed and up to date on shots. She enjoys head pets the most but tells you where she'd like to be pet by moving your hand there. She enjoys string toys and to rub on anything. A wet food connoisseur but only the fishy varieties and it has to be mushed up or already flaky. She will come to you when she'd like attention. She crawls into my lap and will start to make Biscuits and pur. Previous owner had a dog, cat and a 3 year old.
Would be better in a home with older children as she doesn't care for my 1 year old but is okay with my 9 year old. She's very loyal to one person and prefers women. In my home she's really only lovey to me but is okay with everyone else. She will run and hide when strangers come over as she does not care for them.

Sneak peek on Keedo! He was a surrender and appears to be absolute purr-fection! He is still on hold but will be available real soon! He is 4 and has been altered. Good with cats, dogs and kids!

From the foster: Keedo has been adjusting to the home and crew here great. He will find a lap n get all the pets he can. He hangs out and plays with my cat Ricky. He's coming around my big dogs and tolerates them just fine. Anyone would be lucky to have this handsome little love bug. 💕

Ms. Olive was adopted today!!! Have an amazing life sweet girl! Olive is the last of the cats that were covered by generous sponsors! We couldn't be happier that they have all found loving homes! A huge shoutout to our adoption coordinator, Robin Jackson that goes above and beyond to check applications, arrange meet and greets as fast as possible to get these fur babies in permanent loving homes. She volunteers time making it convenient for meet and greets with adopters all around working a full time job! She played a huge role in getting these cats adopted out in December for the reduced or sponsored fees! Way to go, Robin!

MEET AND GREET TODAY 11am-2pm

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Great Tails Animal Rescue at our Gala last night!! We hope you had as much fun as we all did. Without our supporters, adopters, donors, fosters and volunteers we just wouldn't be able to do what we do. We couldn't be more thankful for our teamwork to save as many pets as possible. From the bottom of our hearts, 🐾 GTAR 🐾

Great Tails Animal Rescue is breaking ground in Cohasset for our shelter. While we are still waiting on final bids for the construction of our building, we invite you to our Site Prep event this Tuesday at noon at our land! ⬇️ See comments for directions.

Update on Pickles🥰🥰🥰 We are looking for a special home for him. The vet said they can't say for sure if he will always have nuro issues or if he will grow out of it. We can say he is a very sweet and determined young man. Pickles is still working on the litter box, and goes in it sometimes!!! But typically he just dribbles and lets it loose all over the house. So we made a diaper for when he's in the main part of the house! In his "bedroom" he doesn't use it and practices the litter box. BUT, this diaper is doing GREAT for his back legs! He keeps them up and uses them! With and without the hobble he usually drags them and only puts them under himself every once in a while. But with this diaper he's actually use it them! So cool!

I can’t believe Miss Greta hasn’t been adopted yet! She’s a love bug that gets along with dogs, just doesn’t seem to care for other cats. She’s very playful and just wants to be near her person. She’ll be at the adoption event this weekend at the Central Square Mall so stop down and see her!
