my favorite part of the job? seeing and chatting about your cats, duh.

over the past few weeks i've been able to hear about some of the sweetest babes around town.

one of my favorite interactions - - a friendly cat mom came to the market. she bought toys for her four cats. when she gets home she reaches out to me and says they're fighting over them and she should have bought more. ten minutes later, she's at my booth buying more.

yep.
they're that good.

for years i've had an indoor 'grow space' that consisted of metal shelving, clip on light sticks, and a black cover to keep the cats out.

we've officially upgraded. we have a GROW ROOM now. 4' x 4' full sized room, with ventilation, fans, lights and space for multiple shelves.

yeah, i'm not messing around this winter.

did you know that all of our packaging is recyclable? we intentionally use glass jars, kraft paper pouches, bags and envelopes.

did you also know that we donate our fabric clippings to a local maker? you betcha! .crafts is a local to the grand rapids area, and creates upcycled artwork. using secondhand fabrics to create flowers, and art - giving fabrics a second change at life and keeping them out of landfills.

did you know that we only use organic and natural products for our plants? no chemicals here, baby! whether it is seaweed or fish emulsion, we're keeping it all natural.

did you know that we reuse all of our plant scraps? everything is turned into organic compost, which helps the next round of planting.

we're working hard to choose reusable or recyclable alternatives, limiting our impact on the environment - because without such wonderful land, we wouldn't have such amazing plants.

I had previously listed that I'd be at the SILVA Black Friday / Small Business Saturday events - I won't be able to make it this year. Why?

What an unbelievable market, and event. I had such a great time mingling with every one of you, and of course, chatting cats! You guys, wow.

I absolutely love this community, and everyone I've been able to connect with. Don't worry - our web store is still open and operational and retail spaces will remain stocked. I just can't hang at the market because I've gotta get to work!!

Plants are growing, and we're ready. 2026, here we come! 🌿

this was my first connection with a rescue.

over a year ago, i reached out to a handful of rescues in the Michigan area. i was able to connect with A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue, and send them some of my original goodies.

i sent them catnip toys (the OG's) and some purr pouches. as you can see, this little dude was in heaven.

i absolutely love connecting with rescues, likeminded individuals, but i also love making cats happy. this little blind kitty is clearly, in, heaven.

it never fails.

i wish i could leave something out for my pal, "mystery cat". i'm pretty sure they belong to someone close to our home.

i can't put treats out because we have a lot of other critters (trash pandas, bunnies, possums).

any ideas on something that i could put out for them? i'd love to make sure they are getting some special attention!

Community Cat Crew is a rescue, and retail space located in Grandville, Michigan. you can pet some adorable kitties, AND shop local vendors.

PurrFiction is a bookstore located in the Eastern Market in Detroit, Michigan. the store has loads of events in the community and a huge focus on local feline rescue.

Happy Cat Cafe in Grand Rapids, Michigan has some deeeelicious beverages, and a whole room filled with adoptable cats. what could be better than that? oh yeah! an adorable retail space filled with cat lover goodies.
