Meet our August Horse of the Month, Cash!

Cash's owner, Kendra, writes, "Cash, he's the horse with the most heart. He loves his job and gets an attitude when he thinks he does something wrong 😂. He mainly competes in barrels and some pole bending, but is also professionally trained in jumping and loves that job too!

5 years ago, Cash got EPM. He had all the main symptoms head tilt, half paralyzed face, drag of his hind toe/hind end weakness, etc. A year later, he made his first run back, and that season he qualified me for high school rodeo nationals.

With all the highs and the very low lows, he's always given me 110%.

This is everyone else's sign to not give up on what you know could be. ❤️ No matter how many people tell you to "sell that horse" or "he won't ever be as good as before," keep going. It took me 3 years to get him back to what he once was, but every minute of it was worth it. 🫶"

Today is the day that marks the start of our 2024 Annual Tent Sale!

As we open our doors today, we reflect on a journey that began over 30 years ago. Millbrook Tack was founded in 1992 by Dan and Rosemary Howell, who saw the need for a place where local equestrians could not only buy tack but experience it firsthand. What started as a small storefront in Grand Rapids has grown into the 34,000 square foot home you know today—built on passion, dedication, and a deep love for the equestrian community.

Millbrook Tack isn’t just a store; it’s a place where stories are shared, friendships are forged, and a sense of belonging is nurtured. Whether you're here to shape your hat, find the perfect saddle, or simply share a cup of coffee, we’re here with open hearts and listening ears, just as Dan and Rosemary envisioned.

Our annual tent sale is a celebration of that legacy, a thank you to the customers who have made us more than just a tack store, but a family. From today through Sunday, join us under the tent to find incredible deals, connect with fellow horse lovers, and become part of our story.

Karin’s Horse Connection, also known as Therapeutic Horse Connection, is a 501(c)3 non-profit that offers a wide range of equine-centered therapeutic programs. From Competitive and Recreational Vaulting to Adaptive Vaulting and other therapeutic activities, they provide unique opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to connect with horses and experience the healing and joy that comes from these special bonds. 💖

Their team of dedicated instructors, many of whom are PATH International certified, bring years of experience working with children, youth, and adults. With well-trained ponies and horses that are accustomed to providing special accommodations, Karin’s Horse Connection ensures a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for everyone.
