🌟 Friday Faces: Meet Aubry! 🌟

Aubry has been with Millbrook Tack for a little over a year as our Head of Marketing. Growing up in Lexington, KY—the horse capital of the world—it’s no surprise she was bitten by the horse bug early on! Her favorite product is Gutx, a supplement that’s been a lifesaver for her own horse with ulcers, and she loves the styles and small-business spirit of Novella Equestrian and Deinhardt Designs.

For Aubry, the best part of working here is simple: “The people I get to work with every day.” She describes the team as kind, knowledgeable, and full of laughter.

Last year, after 11 years, Aubry was reunited with her childhood Thoroughbred, who now enjoys a soft, well-deserved retirement on her farm. Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with her husband and their farm family of horses, dogs, and a rescue cat.

Meet Sif! 🐴 This 12-year-old AQHA mare is November's Horse of the Month, and she’s nothing short of extraordinary. Sif and her owner have been a team for just over a year, and they’re already making memories and leaving their mark!

Together, they are part of the Osceola Posse, and whether it’s trail riding or kicking up dust in local speed shows, Sif brings her A-game. 💥 Her owner hopes to get even more competitive in the future—watch out for this dynamic duo in the arena!

This November, Millbrook Tack is excited to spotlight Horseplay Equestrian and support their incredible mission of hope and healing for high-risk youth in our community. 🐴💖 Since 2005, Horseplay has been a place of peace and purpose for young people facing life’s challenges, providing them with hands-on experiences with horses and faith-based support to help them build confidence and resilience.

✨ We’re accepting in-store donations for Horseplay Equestrian all month long! Your contribution will help this amazing organization continue to provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can find healing, connection, and hope.

Holiday Highlight: Horseplay Equestrian’s FREE Live Nativity Event is back this season! 🎄 Bring the whole family to enjoy a Winter Wonderland experience with lights, decorated trees, a live nativity story, and more festive activities. Non-perishable food donations will also be accepted at the event to support families in need.

🌊 Friday Faces: Meet Sam! 🌊

Sam first joined Millbrook Tack in October 2020, took a break to head out west, and is now back with us as of June 2024! She loves working with an amazing team that makes each day fun, and she’s always ready to lend a hand—whether it’s fitting a customer for tall boots or tackling the paper cutter (even if her cuts aren’t always straight!).

🐾 If Sam could bring any pet to work, it’d be her German Shepherd, Griswald. This big, loyal guy follows her everywhere and would be perfect for quiet cuddle breaks on the store floor!

💡 Sam’s advice for equestrians: "One piece of advice that I would give to someone just starting in the equestrian world would be that it's okay if you don't have the latest and greatest tack or horse in the show ring. The real winners are those who work hard outside the ring. Those who set goals for themselves and they keep reaching them even when they feel like giving up because it's hard. Always remember how far you and your horse have come when you are in that show ring. Make sure to always exit the ring with a smile and pat your horse, because the past you sees you as the real winner."

When Sam isn’t at Millbrook, she loves surfing and shelling on the beach with her fiancé, who’s been teaching her how to surf. When she’s not riding waves, she’s collecting sea shells. 🐚

✨ Friday Faces: Meet Holly! ✨

Say hello to Holly, one of the wonderful faces behind Millbrook Tack!

Holly has been with us for almost a year, celebrating her anniversary on November 6th. She works both on the floor and as the Head of Changing Reins, our resale program.

Holly's favorite part of the job? Her coworkers and customers—helping shoppers find exactly what they need and connecting with awesome people along the way.

Her most memorable moment so far? Launching Changing Reins and designing the perfect layout for the merchandise.

If she could bring a pet to work, Holly would bring her cats, Waffle and Twix. Twix, the cuddly helper, loves belly rubs and giving kisses, while Waffle would be an excellent greeter, charming everyone with his "Hewwo." 🐈❤️

💡 Holly’s advice for new equestrians: “Ask lots of questions, read everything you can, and don’t be afraid to keep learning—this industry is always evolving!”

Outside of Millbrook, Holly spends her free time playing D&D, riding her lease horse "CJ", and working on creative projects like custom browbands, bonnets, and leatherwork.
