We are opening up and accepting applicants again that suffer from PTSD to receive a COMPANION dog (he is NOT a service dog) .
Applicant must be a Veteran or First Responder and have proof of having PTSD.

Everyone meet Miko, he is a German Shepard (he has been nurtured and is microchipped). He will be 2 yrs old March 2023. He knows basic Obedience (Sit, Down, Come, Stay and Shake) he has been known to be protective of his owner. He seems to be good around kids and has ALOT of energy.

Applicants must provide a vet reference if selected.

K-9 Phoenix's expression suggests, "They just never learn. (Sigh.)"
K-9 Phoenix, along with St. Louis County Deputy Sheriff Smith, were called to help search for a suspect believed to be hiding in a garage in Cook. The man had several warrants, including a felony.
Law enforcement at the scene had been calling for the man to come out for about 45 minutes (including warning that a K-9 was coming), but got no response.
Once K-9 Phoenix arrived and was allowed to search the garage, it didn't take him long to find and apprehend the man. He is now in jail.
On this Thanksgiving Eve, let us say thank you to each of our dedicated K-9 teams, their colleagues and families. Our communities are safer because of the work they do.

Thor made it to his forever home today with Taylor! I'm not sure who was more excited and happy to meet who, but I think they will be a great fit for eachother! Nothing warms our hearts more knowing that he is not only going to a wonderful home, but he will also be Taylor's right hand in his everyday life! We hope you enjoy and love him as much as we do!💙

Today we chose the veteran recipient to receive Thor. This was a VERY difficult decision as we had many entries. We went through and selected our top 3 best fit choices and then sent those names and stories to an outside source to help make the final decision.

Taylor Hobbs was selected to receive Thor. Taylor served with the 101st Airborne as a bomb dog handler to a dog named Fantom and was deployed to Afghanistan . Upon returning home Taylor and Fantom were separated. Taylor had the hopes of adopting Fantom upon Fantoms retirement, but unfortunately Fantom passed away before he was ready to retire. Taylor suffers from severe PTSD and other symptoms of PTSD. We hope that Thor will help bring joy to Taylor and be the friend he needs when times get hard. We are excited to see these two meet and becomes friends.

Thank you to everyone that applied and to everyone that recommended someone. Our plan is to do this again in the near future when we have another dog available that we feel will be a good fit to a veteran or first responder.
