Have you ever wondered what’s in the seemingly harmless treats your dog loves so much? Owen’s was founded by me, Bethany Kersjes, after pondering this thought.

I researched some of the ingredients in my dog’s current treats and was intrigued by the findings. This fueled my quest in creating healthy treats for my dog. All my treats are baked fresh with human grade ingredients. The recipes resulted from home remedies and healthy lifestyle information I found in my research, in combination with things I have tried for my own dog. Ideas such as yogurt and bl

ueberries helping to create healthy bowels, vegetables being a low calorie snack, and pumpkin attributing to healthy skin and coat were inspiration to my recipe creations. Though these are all known home remedies, I did not conduct any scientific research to back up these claims. My dog and his friends have been great taste testers! I hope your dog loves my treats as much as Owen! Happy snacking!

Thank you all for your dedication over the last 4 years! As of September 2015 Owen and I will be retiring from the dog treat business. We have greatly enjoyed baking for all of you but we are now going to spend time pursuing other hobbies!
