Los Lagos Equestrian Center in Granite Bay, California has some amazing news about its future!
Gene and Carrie Orcutt have decided to step aside and retire after almost 40 years. Danae Boyd and her husband Brent have purchased the facility and have big plans for upgrades and expansion! DaNae rode and trained here as a youth, and became the current trainer/barn manager within the last few years. If you know her, then you know when she makes plans she puts her heart into them and brings them to life.
The Los Lagos Equestrian Center isn't just a place to ride
— it's where legacies are built. Gene and Carrie raised 2 daughters here, both of whom showed and competed. One of their girls went on to become assistant trainer under Carrie for many years. To this day they are still close to their barn friends.
DaNaes mom Blythe Lehmann had her Dressage horse here and she brought DaNae to the barn. DaNae has her daughter Shelby who is now following the generational dream in horses. She’s learning different disciplines with her own horse and enjoying spending time with the barn’s younger crowd. You could say the legacy has come full circle!
The foundation laid here creates equestrians for life. Passing down skills, values, and a love for all things horses through each generation. We are incredibly proud and honored to be a part of their journey,
Los Lagos offers opportunities for multi disciplines. English, Western, Dressage, Trail, we have it all. Carrie will be staying on as a trainer and consultant through the transition. We anticipate the facility upgrades to be underway by January 2025, with stalls in the main barn and around the facility available. We will have plenty of room for new boarders and trainers alike!
