During extreme weather conditions, many shelters may experience prolonged power outages. If you have available space, consider providing temporary foster care for animals until power is restored by contacting your local animal shelter to determine their needs. Let's prioritize the safety and well-being of our furry friends. If you have an outdoor dog, please bring them indoors. Most residences have a laundry room, bathroom, or basement that can provide a warm space for dogs. Prolonged exposure to harsh weather can be fatal for dogs. Refrain from letting cats outside during this time. Indoor-outdoor cats can safely wait until the weather improves. Note that blankets are not effective in keeping pets warm outdoors, as they absorb moisture. Instead, straw is a great option for dog houses, allowing dogs to burrow and maintain warmth without moisture absorption. Insulated dog houses are the best. Please keep yourself and your pets safe! - deb

Remember if you have dogs and you put down salt, regular salt will burn their paws. Make sure your dogs have on booties or you can buy the pet friendly ice melt. You should be able to find this at any pet store and Walmart also carries it. Let's think of our furry friends during this extreme weather.

Rojo got out of the shelter for a few hours today. He loved all the attention he got and the peace and quiet of being in a home.

Buddy had his second sleepover last night. He was much more relaxed this time and was able to get some good sleep after lots and lots of love. We watched some TV, made dinner, and just chilled. He slept through the night without any issues. We are going to take a nice long walk and he will have breakfast before he has to head back to the shelter.
Just a reminder Buddy is available for adoption or foster. He doesn’t like cats. He’d prefer to be your only fur baby but if you have a non aggressive pup and introduce him correctly he should be fine.

Someone please please save me from Lisa’s sleepover bootcamp. I like to go on long walks but she’s trying to kill me with these runs we are doing. I’m a full figured woman, we aren’t supposed to be running 🤣🤣
I’m a really good girl. I’m potty trained, I love to supervise Lisa while she cleans, does laundry, cooks etc so I would love a home where I could supervise my family. I love to be outside and butt, belly, and ear rubs. I like cats but I’m not a fan of other dogs.
I slept for over 10 hrs last night without even having to get up and use the bathroom.
I’m available for adoption or a foster

Baby Girl is having her second sleepover tonight. We have taken two nice long walks since the weather is so nice. She has helped me do laundry, vacuum and make lunch. She such a good supervisor. Otherwise, it’s been a very lazy day watching football etc. She’s such a good girl. She has lots of love to give and is looking for her new family. She is cat friendly but has to be the only dog. She loves, loves, loves people and good ole belly rubs. She’s a big girl but when she’s in my home she’s not as hyper as she is at the shelter so with some training etc she will be fine with smaller kids but maybe not with kids under 3 unless supervised and worked with to interact with them properly. She’s 7-8 yrs old but still very active. She loves to go on walks and to be outside. She’s potty trained. I left her in my kitchen today when I ran some errands and she was just fine but she is good with a kennel also.
