Pound Pets Inc. Rescue Fundraiser is May 17th this year. We will have plenty of designs available like last year and piercing special running all day.

If you have never played before it’s a blast. Its a whole lot more fun then regular bingo

We have 200 seats available. It’s $5 to reserve a seat. You can also reserve tables of 8 for $40 if you want to be able to sit with all your friends/family.

This is how it will work:
Everyone who reserves a seat in advance and pays their $5 will be entered into an early bird game. Only those who pay in advance can participate in this game. The prize money for this game will be 50% of what we collect. So for example. If we sell 150 advance tickets. Those 150 people will be entered to play the early bird game. All 150 people paid $5 which is a total of $750. So the pay out for the early bird game will be $375. If more then one person gets the Show Me The Money it will be split among that number of people.

After the early bird game we will play 4 total sessions. How these sessions will work will be explained in future posts. But all payouts will be determined on how many people play and how many hands you play. The more people who play and the more hands you play the more payouts will be.

This Friday and Saturday-Pounds Pets will be participating in the Emerald Meadows Subdivision yard sale. All the items for the rescue are on special marked tables and are on a available for donations that will go directly to the rescue. So come on by and see us

Buddy says he wants his own home and family so he can have yummy ribeyes more often and take nice long naps on the couch on rainy days

Buddy has been at the shelter since 2019-2020. He came in as a young pup who was used as a bait dog. Not sure how a pup who had such a crappy life in the beginning can be so sweet and loving.

He is a totally different pup when he’s away from the shelter. He’s a big ole baby. He loves to snuggle, go for long walks, sit in the yard especially when it’s warm and sunny. He’s kind of a lazy pup and likes to chill most of the time. Buddy likes other dogs but has to be introduced correctly. He’s very interested in cats but overall he’s scared of them. Today one hissed at him on our walked and he almost had a heart attack. Again, I feel like if introduced correctly Buddy would be fine with cats if they are ok with dogs.

He loves people and kids but he can be intimidated so he likes to approach them on his own pace. Since I started bringing Buddy home with me for weekend visits he has became so much more relaxed and enjoy his time being in a home. He would make a great addition to someone’s home and family. As I am typing out this post Buddy is laying on my bed sleeping. He’s gotten more independent while he is here and doesn’t have to be my shadow nonstop like he used to be.

Not received by us, but by another rescue. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about rescue. No we don't get vetting for free. No, people do not donate us animals to sell where we get a profit. We rescue animals. Animals that have not been taken care of and some have never known love because they've been on the chain out in the yard. Some come to us injured. Our vetting bills costs over $75,000 a year. We adopt out dogs for $150. This includes all their vaccines, a microchip, they are spayed or neutered. You get one free month of flea, tick and heartworm treatment. So, if you're familiar with vetting bills you realize that $150 most often doesn't cover all the vetting. Our cat adoptions are $100. We do not make money on adoptions. We usually don't even cover our costs. If an animal comes to us injured or sick , we make them better and the adoption fee is still the same . We count on donations, online auctions, events, raffles, Etc. When you attend our events, we usually cover our cost and make extra. That is what keeps us going. We have not been able to find a grant writer. We've had three or four volunteer and then we never see them again. So we don't run on grants either. A lot of money comes out of our own pockets. We do this because we love animals, not because we're looking to get rich. None of our volunteers are paid. None of our board of directors are paid. No one is paid. Every person here does what they do because of their love for the animals. So next time someone tells you a rescue is getting rich because people donate us animals to sell, you can educate them with the facts. As always, thank you for your support.
