Pound Pets Inc. Rescue We are a 501c3 no-kill animal rescue We are a Non Profit organization. We are fosterbased so we are constantly looking for foster homes.

Some of our dogs have to the be the only pets in the home so those foster homes are always needed. We have very few dogs due to the lack of foster homes. If you would like to foster, please complete a foster appliation. We can't save them if they have no place to go.

Please keep in mind that they are predicting severe weather on friday. They are predicting that we could have up to 100 mph winds. You know what that means. Fences can get blown over and Gates blown open. Please make sure your animals are secure. There are severe thunderstorms predicted as well as possible tornadoes. Everyone stay safe and please make sure your animals are safe. Now would be a good time to get a black Sharpie and write your name and phone number on the inside of your dog's collar . Or get them tags for their collar . We will be following this and give you Updates this Friday gets closer.

The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted nearly all of Illinois under a risk of severe weather on Friday. While the finer details on timing and evolution remain fuzzy, the clearer picture is a dynamic system in play bringing an attendant severe weather threat with it. Stay tuned.

This Saturday, Pound Pets Inc. Rescue will be assisting Socks-a-lot, a local organization, in helping feed the homeless. Many of these individuals have pets. Pound pets will be providing pet food. We are kindly asking for donations to help, as this will deplete our community outreach program. We are looking for small to medium sized bags of any brand of dog food or cat food. You can drop them off at the shelter any evening between 4:00 and 5:30. Please do not leave any outside the door because they won't be there when we get there. If you are unable to get out to drop off some food and you would like to, you can send us a donation via venmo or PayPal and we will do the shopping. As always, thank you for your continued support.

Annie is settling in at her new foster home. She working on her potty training, she is doing really good on her kennel training. She gets along with her foster siblings and she also spent time with other dogs this weekend.
Her foster parents say she is a very lazy and low energy puppy. She loves to just chill. Annie will be a bigger dog so if you are interested in adopting her just remember this
She will be available after she’s spayed which is in about 3 weeks

Meet Annie!!!! She’s one of the pups we rescued from a kill shelter in Arkansas. She’s 14 weeks old and will be getting some puppy shots tomorrow, her appointment to get spayed will be set up tomorrow also.
Annie is currently in a foster home with several other pups. Yesterday when she was at the shelter she was with cats and seemed to be just fine with them.
We believe she will be bigger once she is grown. She appears to have some blue heeled and possibly Australian shepherd in her. Plus a few others things.
Annie is working on getting potty and kenneled trained at her foster home. Annie is very sweet and loving. Her life started out very rough so it’s time for her to find her very own furever home
If you are interested in adopting Annie please let us know
Once she goes to the vet tomorrow we will know her weight and possibly more details about her breed.

Rojo loves to play fetch but he doesn’t always like to drop it so we can throw it more then once 🤣🤣🤣

We have some serious puppy love going on at the shelter. As soon as Buddy got back to the shelter today he ran straight to Coco’s kennel and gave her kisses. They have became quite the bonded pair. They can both be off leash now together. Coco is definitely the one in control in this relationship but Buddy could careless he just loves being able to hangout with her

Denise and I(Lisa) have been working with Coco and Buddy for about 7 mos. We started out with them walking on opposite side of the street, then the same street one in front of the other and the last 2 mos they have walked next to each other. They have also been interacting with each other one in their kennel and the other out. Today Coco was kissing Buddy through her Kennel. So after their walk we let them interact in the yard together. Coco was so excited and all she wanted to do is play. Hopefully in the next few weeks they can both be off leash in the yard. It takes time and patience sometimes.

Ellie taught me this. I can make the ball go backwards now.

Someone please please save me from Lisa’s sleepover bootcamp. I like to go on long walks but she’s trying to kill me with these runs we are doing. I’m a full figured woman, we aren’t supposed to be running 🤣🤣 I’m a really good girl. I’m potty trained, I love to supervise Lisa while she cleans, does laundry, cooks etc so I would love a home where I could supervise my family. I love to be outside and butt, belly, and ear rubs. I like cats but I’m not a fan of other dogs. I slept for over 10 hrs last night without even having to get up and use the bathroom. I’m available for adoption or a foster
