Fleas can be annoying especially if your cat has a flea allergy. Cats can be allergic to the flea saliva causing the skin to overreact and cause intense itching. This can cause red, crusty bumps on the skin where the cat has been bit, but it will also cause your cat to scratch. When cats start scratching, they can cause very severe skin lesions quickly, due to their sharp claws. These lesions are then at risk for secondary bacterial infection. It is important to seek veterinary care if you think your cat has a flea allergy.

How can you be sure your cats are getting along? If they groom each other, sleep in close contact together, approach each other with tails up, touch noses or rub heads, engage in mutual play by taking turns chasing each other, or if either cat initiates interaction, they just might be friends.
