Truman
Truman is back through no fault of his own. He is seeking a retirement home for his golden years! At 12 years old plus, he is a lovely, mature fella who is getting along great in his foster home with other dogs. In fact, he doesn't like to be alone and we think a home with other dogs would be best for me.
He is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on parasite preventatives. He is $87.50 to bring home!
If you are interested, please call the shelter at (541) 474-5458. You can view more adoptable pets at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions . Walk-ins are welcome, however we highly recommend calling first to check on availability and location (some animals may be offsite or unavailable). Appointments are recommended to reduce wait times, especially for dogs. Thank you!
November VOtM
NOVEMBER VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH!
We have some amazing volunteers and we wanted to show them how much we appreciate everything they do for the animals and us.
This month we chose Cindy!
Cindy has been volunteering in our cat adoption center for about a year. She is a go-to when we are seeking the help, even on short notice! Cindy always comes in and even pulls extra shifts during the week. She even helps with transporting cats to Petco and gets them set up for adoption!
Thank you for being amazing! You have no idea how much we all appreciate everything you do!
Thank you to G.G. Sugarplum's Bakeshop, Coming Attractions Theatres, Inc, Fire Mountain Gems and Beads, Dutch Bros Coffee, Bear Images Boutique - for donating thank-you gifts for our Volunteer of the Month.
Buckley's Day Out
BUCKLEY'S DAY OUT!
Here is a what our volunteer had to say about their time with Buckley.
"Buckley was very gentle and calm around people of all ages. Even upon spotting other dogs, he didn't seem to mind. We went to the river for a swim, then the Riverside Park for a walk. We headed to Grocery Outlet, where he was a very good boy and was well behaved inside of the store for a whole hour!! He met several people and got some lovins. Lastly we got him a pup cup. Buckley startles slightly at strange new contraptions or sudden movements but he adapts to them just as quickly, and is not affected anymore by them almost immediately after he sees they are not a threat. He has an easygoing nature and is a gentlemen, doesn't pull on the leash and just wants to sniff everything. Even my five year old son was able to walk him briefly without him pulling at all. He does not pull to go after anything, even when he sees other dogs and geese."
Dog’s Day Out is a program that helps shelter dogs get a break from the shelter. We have some amazing dogs here at the shelter that would love to spend the day with you — or even just an hour! Whether it’s taking a car ride and stopping to get a "puppuccino," taking a stroll in the park and playing in the river, and/or shopping for a new chew toy, any chance to decompress from the shelter helps our dogs live happier lives and helps them on their journey to their forever homes.
That’s where you come in! We have some amazing volunteers who help socialize and help our dogs get out of Dodge for the day. We are always looking for more help!
If this is something you would love to do, please fill out a volunteer inquiry at www.savethewhiskers.org/volunteer/ and someone will be in contact with you.
Volunteer Mark was presented today with the hardest job at the shelter... cuddling puppies!
The puppies shown are Kimchi and Bao Bun. (Both adopted)
****FOREST GUMP has been adopted****
**JENNAY is still available**
Jennay are adorable siblings who are about 3 months old. They are super social, super cute, and are ready for new homes.
You can see more about them and all of our adoptable pets at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions
Big thanks to Cathi Harley for her generous donation of Churu to the shelter!
Cathi often calls the shelter to see what is needed at the time--this week, we had some spicy kitties we were trying to win over, and there is one tool that usually does the trick: CHURU!
Cathi has donated so much to the shelter over the years: an incubator for neonatal kittens, leashes for adopted dogs, pill pockets for easy medicating, and so much more!
Thank you, Cathi, and all of the generous donors who help us help them!
We are so grateful for the recent help with the overflow of dogs - we know the dogs have gotten a lot of attention lately, and our feline guests would like to kindly remind you that they are looking for homes, too!
You can check out our adoptable cats at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions or come by for a visit. We have several great cats seeking forever homes!

We have some amazing volunteers and we wanted to show them how much we appreciate everything they do for the animals and us.
This month we chose Trinity and Johnny!
Trinity and Johnny are part of our Dog's Day Out program volunteers. They started their journey in September and almost every weekend since then, they have taken a dog out! THAT'S AMAZING! It's exactly what our shelter dogs need. They have no idea how much the dogs enjoy their time with them! With Trinity and Johnny's help with their Dog's Day Out, 4 dogs have found their forever homes so far!!!
Thank you for being amazing! You have no idea how much we all appreciate everything you do!

Bennett's Day Out
Bennett's Day Out!
Bennett and our volunteers spent some time exploring Cathederal Hills hiking through the trails. After their hike, he enjoyed a pupcup from Dutch Bros. Our volunteers said Bennett fell asleep when they were driving around. He just wanted to relax. Bennett enjoyed his time away with our volunteers.
