Hey friends! Help us find Princess a home she can live out the rest of her golden years at! 🧡👑

Hi, I'm Princess, and I'm really looking forward to reclaiming that title soon. Can your home and heart be my next domain?

I've had a hard couple of days. You see, I was a loved pet whose owner passed away. I also had a very painful wound on my foot, and the vet got me fixed up and I'm on medication to make sure that heals. (Thank you Shelter Friends for sponsoring that!) Despite being in pain and no doubt being very confused, I am being very well-behaved and make new friends easily.

My microchip tells a story that I was adopted a few years ago, and before that I was surrendered to another shelter, who provided a little history on me. I am half Boston Terrier, half English Bulldog. I am around 14 years old and I weigh 30lbs. I am potty trained, although I ask for patience with me in my golden years. I love children and all people. I'm non-reactive to dogs around me, but prefer to be the only dog in my home. A chill cat may be okay. I'm really hoping my next home is my last.

I'm easygoing, loving, and a couch potato. I love snacks and make little piggy noises when I eat. I have some lumps and bumps, and am in my final years and am looking for a soft place to land.

I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am 87.50 to bring home!

If you are interested, please call the shelter at (541) 474-5458. You can view more adoptable pets at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions . Walk-ins are welcome, however we highly recommend calling first to check on availability and location (some animals may be offsite or unavailable). Appointments are recommended to reduce wait times, especially for dogs. Thank you!

Meet our Pets of the Week Legolas and Kevin Jonas. Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Legolas is a ~3 year old boy who weighs ~61 lbs, he's a sturdy boy who comes up to about your knee. We would say he's a good medium-sized guy! This fun, goofy and athletic boy loves everyone he meets and has no shy bone in his body. He loves to be active and go on adventures. Legolas has met other dogs here and has done well with female dogs and can meet neutered male dogs nicely. We believe he would do best in a home with only female dogs and no cats, please.
He did nicely with children that he met. He loves to cuddle up to you or sit in your lap. Squeaky toys are his favorite and will chase after them when thrown, he's still getting used to this whole "fetch" thing.
When he arrived at the shelter, staff noted he walks a little funny. He went to the vet and they said their best guess is he previously fractured that bone and it did not heal straight. The vets believe he will not have any complication in the future nor does he seem to be in pain.
He is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. Legolas is $175 to bring home! Mention this ad and you can bring me home for $87.50
🧡 My name is Kevin Jonas and I am a ~7 month old fixed male! I was brought into the shelter with my two brothers, and we quickly stole the show here. We each have our own unique personalities, so come to the shelter to see who you're most compatible with! I'm usually the most outgoing of our trio, and I'll definitely leave a good impression. I came from a property with several other cats, so I'm used to sharing the spotlight. With a proper introduction I could potentially live with other cats!I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $90 to bring home. But mention this ad and bring me home for just $45.

Meet our Pets of the Week Sawyer and Redbeard. Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 My name is Sawyer! I'm a nice, one year old boy who is a dense 57 pounds. I have met other dogs and have done well with some, as long as they are tolerant of my confident energy. I would need an easy going playmate. I came in with my brother. I am very treat motivated and will eat just about anything! I am eager to learn and already know sit!
I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $175 to bring home! Mention this ad and you can bring me home for $87.50

🧡 Ahoy there! Are you looking for a new first mate? Check out Redbeard! This swashbuckler is looking for a new ship to captain. He's very sweet and loves pets. He is a floppy young boy around 6-7 months old who would love to find his new forever.

🧡 🎉 Meet King Kilo! 🎉
This handsome boy is around 1 year old and weighs ~55lbs. He’s a sweet and playful pup who’s always ready for an adventure, a game of tug or fetch, or snuggling up with his favorite people. 💕 If you’re busy, no problem—he’s happy to toss his toys around and entertain himself! 🐾
King Kilo has met other dogs and gets along well with friendly, playful pups. While we don’t have any history of him with kids or cats, we’re hopeful he’ll thrive with proper guidance. An active home would be ideal for this energetic and fun-loving guy! 🏡
He’s already fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up-to-date on parasite preventatives. Ready to add King Kilo to your family? 🐶💖

🧡 🐾 Meet Nutella! 🐾
This sweet girl is a ~2-year-old fixed female who’s ready to find her forever home! 💖 Nutella came to the shelter as a stray with her babies, and while her past is a mystery, one thing is clear—she’s an amazing mama and an even better companion. 🐱 Nutella is a laid-back lady who enjoys relaxing and watching her kittens play. She’s always up for some love from staff and volunteers and is a big fan of extra treats. 🍖 She’s as sweet as her name and would love nothing more than to be spoiled and adored in her new home.
Nutella is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up-to-date on parasite preventatives. You can bring this darling girl home for just $45 by mentioning this ad.

Meet our Pets of the Week Pufferfish and Swanna! Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Pufferfish is the guy who has it all! He is not huge, 52 pounds. He gets along with other dogs. He is gentle. He knows some commands including sit. He likes treats and toys. And, he has the cutest underbite. At any given time his bottom teeth and/or his tongue is showing! He is about 7 years old. He is a staff favorite and is very easy going. He loves to be with people and needs strong containment when left alone. We are unsure how he is with kids and cats, but think he would be good with proper introductions.

He’s fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. He’s $175 to bring home! But mention this ad and pay $87.50.

🧡 Swanna is a sweet girl who is about 2-3 months old. She is spunky and playful and loves sitting in her cardboard box. 🙂

I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $120 to bring home.****ADOPT ME WITH A PAL AND JUST PAY ONE FEE!*** Mention this ad and only pay $60 to bring Swanna and a friend home.

🌟 Shelter Friends Shoutout: A Big Thank You to Carole!

We want to send a huge thank you to Carole, who has gone above and beyond to support our foster families. Carole is a Wayfair customer who receives two free items each month, and instead of using them for herself, she has chosen to donate them to help our foster families! This month, she picked out supplies that will be incredibly useful for our animals and their temporary homes.

Although Carole is currently unable to foster herself due to personal circumstances (she lives in a rental and has two cats of her own), her generosity shows how much she cares. Not only did she use her Wayfair points to donate, but she also purchased several additional items to make sure our foster families are well-equipped.

This is just the beginning—Carole also dropped off a new round of donations. Thank you, Carole, for being such an amazing part of our community and helping make a difference for the animals! Your kindness is truly appreciated, and we know it will go a long way in supporting our foster families and their furry friends.

If you'd like to help in a similar way, please reach out! We are always grateful for donations of any size.

🧡 Carlisle is a medium sized, dense, 51 pound boy who is about a year old. He is a playful guy who came in with his brother. He has met a few other dogs and done well. He has been unsure and shy at first, but very tolerant and then super playful. He is still a very teachable age and loves freeze dried treats!
I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $175 to bring home! But mention this ad and pay $87.50.
🧡 Noslo is a little boy kitten who is learning quickly that pets are good! He is about 4 months old and is absolutely adorable, soft and squishy.

We are so excited to share this art project again and this time it is from Ms. Trevathan’s second grade classroom at Lincoln Elementary school! This project helps promote the adoptable dogs and cats at the Josephine County Animal Shelter! These one-of-a-kind artwork pieces will be on display at the Josephine County animal shelter and if you adopt one of these animals you will get to take home the artwork. Help us in sharing and look for more to come! 🧡

The generosity of this group, with financial donations as well as supplies needed for our shelter, is very much appreciated by us all! Thank you!

Meet our Pets of the Week, Osha and Parker! Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Hi, I'm Osha! I'm a lovely 3-year-old lady weighing in at 79lbs. With my gentle nature and mellow demeanor, I love getting pets and will politely ask for more! When I first arrived, I was a bit unsure, but the staff has loved watching me grow more comfortable and reveal my sweet personality.
I have experience living with other dogs, kids, cats, and even chickens! When meeting new dogs, I’m neutral and easygoing, preferring polite pups who match my calm vibe. I also appreciate gentle children who give me a little time to warm up.
I’m already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on parasite preventatives. Mention this ad, and you can take me home for an adoption fee of just $87.50!
🧡 Meet Parker! If you visit the shelter, you’ll probably spot her right away—she loves to reach out of her kennel for more pets! This sweet, 1-year-old girl is outgoing, friendly, and full of love. Parker adores giving head boops to request more attention. While she’s still getting used to being held, she’s learning that it can be pretty nice, too! Her finder mentioned she got along wonderfully with other cats.
Parker is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on parasite preventatives. Mention this ad, and her adoption fee is only $45!
