Last week we announced that we were sponsoring the adoption fees for two senior dogs: Butch and Princess! The great news is that Butch found his perfect forever home. Now, we'd like to find that perfect home for Princess too!

Princess is a 13-14 yr old Boston Terrier, English Bulldog mix. She's a stout little gal that certainly does not act her age! She has enjoyed short walks around her foster mom's yard, has wonderful house manners, and easily retreats to her kennel at night when it's time to go to bed! She does prefer to be the only dog in her home although she has met the foster's chickens and showed zero interest in them, so she may possibly co-exist in a home with a respectful cat.

If you are interested in learning more about Princess or meeting her, please call the shelter. 541-474-5458. She's in a foster home so an appt will need to be made.

Meet our Pets of the Week Noland and June! Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Hi, I’m Noland! I’m a 1-year-old, 50-pound boy with a gentle heart. I can be a little shy around new people, but if you give me a chance, I’ll show you just how sweet and loving I am. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was very scared and unsure of myself, but thanks to the wonderful staff, I’ve gained confidence every day! Now, I’m ready to find a home that will help me continue to grow into my best self.
I’m still learning about toys, but I absolutely love treats, walks, and spending time with the people I trust. I’ve met other dogs here and would do best with a friendly, well-socialized pup who can help me learn the ropes. Since I came in as a stray, the staff isn’t sure how I am with cats or kids, but they think I’d do best with children who understand and respect my boundaries.
I’m also a champion snuggler and love giving kisses!
I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on parasite preventatives. My adoption fee is $175. but mention this ad and you can bring this sweet boy home for $87.50.
🧡 June is a sweet and affectionate 5-month-old girl looking for a loving home. During her time at the shelter, she has shown a gentle and friendly personality. She has previously lived with other cats and children and, while she may need a little time to adjust to a new feline friend, she quickly warms up and enjoys playing with them.
She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on parasite preventatives. Her adoption fee is $120. But mention this ad and bring him home for $60. Could June be the perfect addition to your family?

They are available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter.

Meet our Pets of the Week Squash and Party Snacks! Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Meet Squash! This adorable 3-month-old pup is a mix of Pit Bull Terrier, possibly Australian Shepherd, and 100% snuggle bug. She’s playful, loves treats and toys, and has been a sweetheart since she arrived.
As a young puppy, Squash is still learning and will need a patient, committed owner to help her grow into the best dog ever. With love, training, and guidance, she’ll make an amazing lifelong companion. Ready to welcome this lovable girl into your home? She’s eager to find her forever family! She is $225 to bring home, but mention this ad and you can bring this sweet girl home for $112.50.
🧡 Meet Party Snacks—your ultimate game day companion! This handsome 2-year-old boy may have been found hanging around a feral cat colony, but it was clear he didn’t belong—he’s far too friendly, outgoing, and affectionate to live life on the sidelines. With his love for pets and people, Party Snacks is more of a social butterfly than a stray!
Just like the perfect Super Bowl spread, Party Snacks brings joy to any gathering. He’s ready to be your MVP—Most Valuable Purrer—and would love to find a forever home where he can soak up attention and love.
He’s already fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on parasite preventatives, so he’s all set to join your team. For just $90, you can bring home the best Party Snack of all—one that will love you long after the game is over! But mention this ad and bring him home for $45.

Meet our Pets of the Week Nile and Thumper. Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Nile is a very handsome 60 pound boy. He is about 3 years old. He loves to go on walks, and once he settles, he is pretty easy to walk. He is very treat motivated and takes them gently. He also loves belly rubs and really likes to cuddle. He can tolerate some respectful male dogs, but is much more interested and playful with female dogs. He was a stray so we don't have history on him, but he is a sweet boy! He is $175 to bring home! Mention this ad and you can bring him home for $87.50
🧡Thumper is a 2 year old boy. He was found outside a few months ago and his kind finder helped get him vet care and welcomed him into their home. There, Thumper lived with another cat and smaller dog. He tolerated the dog but did not get along with the other cat. He is now looking for a home where he can be the only cat. Thumper also lived with kids over 9, and was good with them For the last few months, he was indoor only and adjusted well to that. He likes being picked up and pet, will sit on laps and walk away when he's done. Thumper is very affectionate, very talkative and loves a scratching post. He's $90 to bring home. But mention this ad and bring him home for just $45.

Meet our Pets of the Week Caesar and Kelsey. Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Hi, I'm Caesar! I'm a boy who is about 70lbs and around 1 year old, maybe even younger. I'm a sweet pup who is growing into such a wonderful adult. I'm gentle, friendly to all I meet, playful, and sweet. I'm floppy and silly and have been an excellent shelter guest. I get along great with other dogs that I have met here at the shelter so far! The person who found me said I had zero accidents at their house, and that I got along great with their children. I'm a total catch!
I'm looking for someone who wants a companion for life. Could it be you?
He's fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. He is $175 to bring home!Mention this ad and you can bring me home for $87.50
🧡 My name is Kelsey and I am a ~2 year old fixed female! I was brought into the shelter as a stray, and my history is a mystery. My finder did say that I did not seem very interested in other cats, but I absolutely love people. I'm so sweet and ready to find my new favorite person! Come meet me at the shelter and I'll be your best friend in no time!

Hey friends! Help us find Princess a home she can live out the rest of her golden years at! 🧡👑

Hey friends! Help us find Princess a home she can live out the rest of her golden years at! 🧡👑

Hi, I'm Princess, and I'm really looking forward to reclaiming that title soon. Can your home and heart be my next domain?

I've had a hard couple of days. You see, I was a loved pet whose owner passed away. I also had a very painful wound on my foot, and the vet got me fixed up and I'm on medication to make sure that heals. (Thank you Shelter Friends for sponsoring that!) Despite being in pain and no doubt being very confused, I am being very well-behaved and make new friends easily.

My microchip tells a story that I was adopted a few years ago, and before that I was surrendered to another shelter, who provided a little history on me. I am half Boston Terrier, half English Bulldog. I am around 14 years old and I weigh 30lbs. I am potty trained, although I ask for patience with me in my golden years. I love children and all people. I'm non-reactive to dogs around me, but prefer to be the only dog in my home. A chill cat may be okay. I'm really hoping my next home is my last.

I'm easygoing, loving, and a couch potato. I love snacks and make little piggy noises when I eat. I have some lumps and bumps, and am in my final years and am looking for a soft place to land.

I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am 87.50 to bring home!

If you are interested, please call the shelter at (541) 474-5458. You can view more adoptable pets at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions . Walk-ins are welcome, however we highly recommend calling first to check on availability and location (some animals may be offsite or unavailable). Meet our Pets of the Week Legolas and Kevin Jonas. Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Legolas is a ~3 year old boy who weighs ~61 lbs, he's a sturdy boy who comes up to about your knee. We would say he's a good medium-sized guy! This fun, goofy and athletic boy loves everyone he meets and has no shy bone in his body. He loves to be active and go on adventures. Legolas has met other dogs here and has done well with female dogs and can meet neutered male dogs nicely. We believe he would do best in a home with only female dogs and no cats, please.
He did nicely with children that he met. He loves to cuddle up to you or sit in your lap. Squeaky toys are his favorite and will chase after them when thrown, he's still getting used to this whole "fetch" thing.
When he arrived at the shelter, staff noted he walks a little funny. He went to the vet and they said their best guess is he previously fractured that bone and it did not heal straight. The vets believe he will not have any complication in the future nor does he seem to be in pain.
He is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. Legolas is $175 to bring home! Mention this ad and you can bring me home for $87.50
🧡 My name is Kevin Jonas and I am a ~7 month old fixed male! I was brought into the shelter with my two brothers, and we quickly stole the show here. We each have our own unique personalities, so come to the shelter to see who you're most compatible with! I'm usually the most outgoing of our trio, and I'll definitely leave a good impression. I came from a property with several other cats, so I'm used to sharing the spotlight. With a proper introduction I could potentially live with other cats!I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $90 to bring home. But mention this ad and bring me home for just $45.

🧡 My name is Sawyer! I'm a nice, one year old boy who is a dense 57 pounds. I have met other dogs and have done well with some, as long as they are tolerant of my confident energy. I would need an easy going playmate. I came in with my brother. I am very treat motivated and will eat just about anything! I am eager to learn and already know sit!
I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $175 to bring home! Mention this ad and you can bring me home for $87.50

🧡 Ahoy there! Are you looking for a new first mate? Check out Redbeard! This swashbuckler is looking for a new ship to captain. He's very sweet and loves pets. He is a floppy young boy around 6-7 months old who would love to find his new forever.

Meet our Pets of the Week Pufferfish and Swanna! Shelter Friends is sponsoring 1/2 of their adoption fees.
🧡 Pufferfish is the guy who has it all! He is not huge, 52 pounds. He gets along with other dogs. He is gentle. He knows some commands including sit. He likes treats and toys. And, he has the cutest underbite. At any given time his bottom teeth and/or his tongue is showing! He is about 7 years old. He is a staff favorite and is very easy going. He loves to be with people and needs strong containment when left alone. We are unsure how he is with kids and cats, but think he would be good with proper introductions.

He’s fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. He’s $175 to bring home! But mention this ad and pay $87.50.
