Beautiful popcorn stage on the apple flowers. Smells so good!

We've been making plans to open intermittently this summer. Our supply of product will be severely limited so anyone wanting fresh produce from us will need to watch this space closely.

If I can find, beg, borrow or buy a tractor before the end of June we will have more stuff but chances of that are pretty slim.

Wishing you each and all a wonderful spring.

A day in the orchard, so cold and so still
The work kept me warm, but I missed my friend's will
His dogs were my friends, they'd play with a ball
A day in the orchard, I'll remember it all.

We've been having a few people dropping by and calling for reasons unknown to us so I'm trying this "covid19 update" thing from FB to try and get the word out again: We will be closed for the rest of the summer possibly until 2021 due to the pandemic.

After 33 years of fun providing the people of the Rogue valley with fine quality fruits and veggies, due to covid19 we have posted this sign at the end of our road. Mom is 83 and I have a history of bronchitis so it just didn't make sense to risk the time and money to plant a big crop this year. There's a slim chance we'll be back in fall with apples and grapes. Wishing you each and all health and happiness.

This is the kick-ass blackberry cane chopper my dad designed and made about 12 years ago with a little welding help from my brother.

Merry Christmas everyone!

A bit cool and cloudy this morning. 2nd day being closed, we've got the house all toasty and comfy. Break down continues in the fields but I'll be off to modify a computer OS for a client this afternoon. Wishing you each and all a delightful fall day.

10/24/2019

We've got several extra boxes of nice apples, red and gold Delicious types. Great for pies, sauce or juice. Letting them go cheap, just $10 for a 20 pound box.

Dug up some more lovely horseradish root yesterday. A small bucketful should be enough for everyone this week. Still loads of fresh tomatoes, eggplants, apples and spaghetti squash on the rack too. Have a super autumn day!

10/07/2019

Picked a bunch of just gorgeous honeydews!
Also, we've got about a pound of fresh horseradish which someone requested but didn't show up to get which would be superb on any sort of pork roast, beef, game bird or venison. I speak from experience ;) it's hot and delicious. Tomatoes coming in strong and steady, bright red and big sizes along with plentiful, large eggplant. A few cukes and zukes still showing up too.
Have a super autumn day!

A very nice load of some BIG eggplant. A few ogen and cantaloupe too. Lovely sunny fall day making me smile :) Rock on!

Dug horseradish today. Ground it up for the pork roast. Woo-hoo! That's some strong stuff. If you'd like me to dig you some too just let me know, only 4.50$/pound. We've also got some cases of apples for sauce, juice, drying or freezing, 15$ for a 20 pound case.

It's a beautiful first day of autumn. I'll be going out shortly to pick sweet corn, squash, and some of the biggest eggplant we've ever raised. We've also got a good supply of red, ripe tomatoes coming out of the patch.
Hope this foggy morning leads to a splendid fall day for you each and all.

Picking some more Incredible sweet corn this morning. Found some beautiful and HUGE eggplants yesterday along with the first few cantaloupes, smell soooo good! Summer squash is piling up high along with tasty Bartlet pears. Plums are still in stock but that season is almost over with. Have a super late summer day!

Hooray! Hooray!
It's sweet corn
picking day!

08/29/2019

[The good news is, I'll be picking corn tomorrow, Friday]...
My apologies to anyone who tried to stop by today. I meant to put up a notice that we were closed Thursday but it just slipped my mind. Mom had a routine medical appointment (all green lights!) which was moved ahead several times and we ended up going in today on sort of short notice.

08/25/2019

It's a gorgeous summer Sunday! We will be open tomorrow, Monday with Satsuma and Italian plums, Bartlet pears, Interlaken grapes, zucchini and yellow crookneck squash, peaches, potatoes, yellow onions and green tomatoes for frying.

So much fun picking these beauties! It's cool and infinitely peaceful in the orchard on these quiet mornings. Perched on the ladder plucking succulent plums, what could be more fun?

08/20/2019

Lotsa good stuff in the stand today. Picked a fresh pile of pears last night, heading out shortly to do the same with Satsuma plums. Zucchini and cukes after that and if we're lucky I'll find a couple of eggplant too.

It's gonna be a long day for mom at the stand. An irrigation pipe burst over night and the battery in the truck died so I've got my hands full as soon as picking is done.

Wishing you each and all a glorious summer day.

08/16/2019

Hoppin' busy today! Weather is mild so everyone coming in has been happy.
Mom is down at the stand with a nice list of stuff: apples, Bartlet pears, Satsuma plums, peaches, yellow onions, russett potatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and a bunch of good yard sale junk (I'll list a bit in the comments)

I'm done with lunch so gotta head off soon to move some water around the place. Then I'll be seeing anyone who drops by in the afternoon. Have a super day!

08/13/2019

We'll be opening with a yard sale this weekend. Friday and Saturday 10am to 5pm. Mostly summer squash, a few cukes, some plums, blackberries if we can get them picked and possibly a few eggplants. Too many items in the yard sale to list.

06/14/2019

I'm loving this cool morning! Especially after getting blasted by the sun and wind yesterday. Sweet corn and green beans are up and growing beautifully along with the first of the watermelons and cucumbers just popping out. A couple big sprinkler plumes are visible over the vineyard getting the next field ready to be ripped and rototilled for the late plantings of corn, beans and tomatoes.

Wishing you each and all a splendid late spring day.

06/01/2019

So busy! Sweet corn and bush snap bean planting started last week. Prepping ground for tomato and cantaloupe transplanting is underway. We're running about 2 weeks behind schedule but still planning for an early August opening.

Just wanted to show off this huge monarch of the orchard I have been privileged and challenged with protecting. It is a big, old pear tree out near Shady Cove. My spray rig doesn't quite reach the top. Pretty sure it came here on a wagon, not the train. Don't worry, I'm using OMRI listed organic treatments.

02/03/2019

I've been terrible busy working in vineyards and orchards both here at home and around the Rogue valley. Hope y'all have a great winter Sunday and/or fun superbowl Sunday where appropriate :)

12/29/2018

Whoops! we let Christmas slip right by. Well, it was a very nice one for us with plenty of tasty treats and entertainments. Wishing you each and all a wonderful New Year for 2019!

11/27/2018

Hello again! long time no type. Seed catalogs have begun to appear and plans are being made. Of course we both have come down with a head-cold too so not much happening right now. Hope y'all are enjoying these wet and colorful autumn days.
