Join us as we share stories and memories to honor Sandy's legacy. Please refrain from wearing mourning attire and instead dress in clothes that make you happy.

This beautiful girl was caught on our property. We had her spayed, wormed, and vaccinated.

If she ever had a name, we don’t know it. We don’t know how old she is but we guess she’s 6 to 8 months old. We don’t know if she ever had a home or where she came from originally. There’s a lot we don’t know about her.

What we do know is she’s slowly learning to trust again. We know she loves chin scritchies and having her paws rubbed. We know she’s just learning how to “play” and needs someone with patience to win her trust and her heart. We know she deserves love, and warmth, and kindness.

We can’t change her past but we want her to have the future she deserves. We are looking for a loving home for this special kitty. If you want to share your heart and future with her, please stop by Monday through Saturday, between 11 am and 2:30 pm or give us a call at 541-471-8775.

Stop by our lobby at 100 NE Mill Street to buy a $10 ticket for a chance to win a basket of fall doggy goodies. All proceeds will go to the Rogue Valley Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic to honor the memory of Sandy Mazurek. The winner will be drawn on November 23.

Hello Facebook friends and followers. We have some really great and exciting news that we are finally able to share with you all! Our RVHS Spay and Neuter Clinic is now OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Wooohoooo 👏🏼. Currently our clinic is limited to feline spay and neuter appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but we do plan on extending our services to K9 clients and offering public surgeries three days a week soon! Along with lost cost spay and neuter services we can also provide additional services during those appointments such as standard tests, vaccinations and microchipping.

It is with heavy hearts that the Home Away From Home Family announces the passing of our founder and owner, Sandra Mazurek. She led an incredible life from Philadelphia to the South Pacific finally making her home in Grants Pass, Oregon with her beloved husband, Jim.

After retiring from teaching, she built Home Away From Home Pet Spa. For over 27 years, the pet spa has provided a safe, loving place for pet boarding, grooming, and training. Sandra helped hundreds of animals, tended to feral and stray cats, and helped to re home pets for customers who needed assistance. She showed her devotion to the community by boarding dozens of animals displaced by the Biscuit Fire free of charge. After years of loving and caring for animals, this was the culmination of her dream.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rogue Valley Humane Society for their Spay and Neuter Clinic. Checks can be mailed to 429 NW Scenic Drive, Grants Pass, Or 97526. Please include “In memory of Sandra Mazurek” on the memo line.

Hello Fit Dog Friends! It's that time of year where the leaves are falling, the autumn colors are in full bloom, and there's a briskness in the air! That's right...It's the Fit Dog Fall Flurry! Get those sneakers and nice jackets out cause we're going to take advantage of this beautiful season and do some nature hikes!

This October we have 2 hikes scheduled:

October 16th, 2024 (All Sports River Loop) Possible drizzle in forecast so bring rain jackets. Please meet up at the fly fishing area, across the bridge going towards the river access area. Walk Time: approx. 40mins to 1 hour walk
October 28th, 2024@10am (Cathedral Hills: Sky Crest Loop Trailhead) Meet at Sky Crest Trailhead. Walk Time: approx. 1 hour walk

We are sorry but for everyone's safety in this heat, we are cancelling AKC Fit Dog Hikes that were scheduled. We will resume the hikes when the weather is cooler. If you purchased a punch card, it doesn't expire so it will be good for any future hikes.
