My client asked me to make a putter for a groom that got married last year in Chicago. They took pictures at the art institute, so I couldn’t help but try to incorporate that fine art in my own style. Easily one of the most complicated engravings I’ve ever done!
I haven’t posted in quite a while, and that’s because I’m currently the interim CEO at the Grants Pass YMCA. It took all my free time just to get the Christmas putters done on time, but I pulled it off! From here on, I’ll only be taking 2-3 putters on a month as I focus my efforts on using the YMCA to make my home town of Grants Pass into the best possible version of itself. Thanks for all of your support through the years!
When a doctor reached out and wanted to include a bunch of medicine caps from their work in the top of their putter, I knew I had my work cut out to rise to the challenge. I couldn’t just drop them randomly in acrylic, because the putter head is too small and it wouldn’t end up looking random, but just messy.
So I organized the caps and found a design my client liked before carefully encasing it. Then I added the rod of Asclepius as the alignment line, and got to work on the bottom. He wanted something to remind him of Sheep Ranch, so I painted holes 16 and 17 looking toward the ocean.
I’ve been busy making putters, I just haven’t had a ton of time to post them! But I’m cranking through the summer back log and am just about ready to tackle Christmas orders. Those typically fill up fast, so don’t wait until November or it likely won’t happen. I’m excited to see what ideas y’all have in mind for some more epic putters!
A client asked for an x wing in a putter, but I didn’t want to just throw one in the acrylic like it’s floating in space since that would be boring. So I figured out how to make it look like it’s rising from the swamp in Dagobah. I did a dark pour for the swamp water, a mist pour, then a clear pour over top. I made the swamp junk by allowing the green acrylic to get sticky before stringing it over the wings. It took a while to get everything perfect, but it’s finally done!
I’m wrapping up my spring projects now, and am taking custom orders for August and September delivery now.
There’s something you might not know about Bradley Putters… comment below what you would do with this space!
My client wanted an 85th birthday present for his Grandpa, whose family started Vic’s grocery stores around 100 years ago as a “rolling store” out of a truck. I found the iconic bridge from their hometown, matched the look of the church in 1933, and placed their truck rolling over that very bridge. There’s a few generations worth of stories wrapped up in this one image!
Another Army themed putter 😍 two coins under acrylic as the alignment, with the army logo wrapped from the face to the bottom. We originally made an Argo head in anticipation of receiving the coins, but when they arrived, they were slightly larger than expected and didn’t fit. So we made a new deeper head and it fits perfectly. That’s the beauty of making these by hand, one by one. Calling an audible is always possible.
There’s so many hidden personal touches on this putter! The guy it was made for owns a tractor dealership in the south, so I created a field scene with a tractor on it, put his dog in the driver seat, added an important number as the model number, and used an icon from his alma mater as the alignment line. It took quite a few back and forths to get the design exactly right, but it was worth it in the end.
This kind of artwork is so well suited for our acrylic engraving method. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!
Have you checked out the new styles and custom builder on my website? I’m still making improvements and adding styles, but I’m already having people feel comfortable enough to put their order in without a phone call, which means I’m doing something right! I’m always happy to help with the process, but with how many putters we’re planning on doing this year, some added efficiency is appreciated!
When a client wants a hockey themed putter, I only have one speed. Hockey stick wood face, hockey puck behind that, white acrylic as the ice, and clear acrylic on top.
I’ve now made it really easy to get a putter similar to one you’ve seen before. There’s a Style section on my website, and you can simply choose the style you want, customize your shape, grip, shaft, and specs, and add any engravings you like. No more guessing how to design it with the custom builder! But if you want a design that you’ve never seen before, then there’s still the custom builder, and we can hop on the phone to make the design a reality.
