Someone once asked me who do I follow (training wise) and what methods do I use. Honestly...why do I need to follow any ONE person's methods to train or teach?

This may be controversial but I take advice, techniques, and methods from many people; not just one. I'm always looking to learn and grow!

I believe there are benefits to using many methods and exploring your options. Some Horses, just like people, need different options to learn and grow. For instance, when lunging, I was taught and shown to get the horse back to you when finished, you turn away, you chase their butt, your pull their head, ect. I did non of those. I simply reached my hand out and waited patiently for my horse to come to me. It took time, patience, and work but I love ending a lunging session like this. It shows respect and builds trust. You become a safe space!

My methods and style may not be the same as others but that doesn't mean they might not work.

Find what works best for you, your students, your clients, and especially your horses. And keep exploring options and methods! ☺️

So sorry to announce the passing of one of our great lesson ponies; Pepper. It was a sudden and significant loss. 😞

Pepper was fiesty and often grumpy. Not a horse at the barn with her ears up, ready to greet you but she was an incredible teacher; patient, calm, and understanding!

Her and her owner, Arabella, accomplished so much together; not only in shows and competitions but building each other up, growing with each other, supporting one another, and a whole lot of love. Every horse deserves the love of a little girl and every little girl deserves a heart horse; they both got what they deserved!

She was definitely a wonder pony (one in a million), she is loved and she will be missed greatly.

Rest in peace spicy girl ❤️🐴

I know a lot of rain is coming but we're still on for today! We will have Horses, pictures, cookies, some grooming, and definitely Hot cocoa!

The barn is the long yellow one right next to the arena, the entrance says Taylorfield (just over the hill)!

Hello everyone! With the Holiday season upon us, we thought it would be a perfect time for a photo op (and some snacks)!

Absolutely impressed with this boy today! He is definitely not showing his age of 18 years old.
Jack may be older but he has history and so much hidden potential! Lauren Bazzel and I are taking the time to rediscover his skill, build his confidence, and show everyone that you can teach an old "horse" new tricks!

Offering this sweet old man for on site lease in Grantville, Pa!

Meet Jack, 18 yr old grumpy gelding who is ready to get back to work! He is a 14.3-15hh mutt (we think Haflinger and Quarter horse but who knows)! Blind in his left eye but don't let that fool you! He has been ridden English with plenty of jumps! Currently working on bending, staying straight, slowing down a bit after jumps, and picking up the correct leads. This coming weekend he will be showing in Jumpers!

Decently priced lease allows you 3 rides a week plus a lesson at least 2x the month. Property has a small outdoor sand arena, small stone indoor, wash stall, 2 grooming stalls, and a big hay field for some nice trail riding or galloping!

I just bought him from my trainer then an old injury flared up hard so looking to get this boy back to work! Starting November 1, 2023!

We have exciting news!! We finally have a home base that we can grow into in the area I grew up in!

We are saddened to leave our current clients but we have handed our program to Miss Emily Kearney and her program Training with Honor! We look forward in helping Emily make this transition as smooth as possible and we wish her and all of our clients the very best! We hope to still see our clients at our show series in 2024 along with a few clinics we have in mind!

We are accepting new students and boarders at Boots and Saddle Riding Club!

First post, of course, is my reason why. This was my old man Honor. I had him for 7 years before he passed at the ripe old age of 26. He was the perfect horse and taught me so much! I am forever grateful I loved my heart horse in this lifetime!

Now, because of him, my goal is for everyone to experience this incredible connection. My goal is to build confidence in the rider and build a strong relationship between rider and their horse. No better feeling and nothing stronger than a bond built from the ground up!
