My beautiful friend Ramona is still seeking her perfect match. Without a shelter and Adoption program it is difficult for dogs like her to get real exposure for adoption. She needs your help!! Please help her move back into a home by sharing her photo.

She is vetted, spayed, 5 years old, great energy level, loves the car, like people, LOVES to be outside (supervised on leash) with friends, loves her kong, and to play with squeaky toys..that she will quickly destroy. Housebroken. Knows basic commands but needs reinforcement. (Training classes by of Nature have been donated!) She is a great dog!

She is not aggressive but she doesn't want to live with other animals. This is non negotiable. Ramona was very loved in her last home and it was made clear she did NOT love living with another pet I will not set her up to fail.

Ramona also used to be a frequent wanderer in town. Ideally her new family will have a fenced in portion of their yard, or be super committed to having her on leash at ALL times. An electric fence will not contain her.

I KNOW there is a perfect person/family out there for her. She needs YOUR help to reach them. Interested adopters (ok for rescue pulls too) please email [email protected] or call 413-263-3210 x9 and leave a message.
Thank you!

Not my favorite kind of post to make, but informative...please share.
Good intentions can have disastrous results.
This young Robin should be flying by now and eating on his own.
He was brought to me by a family that had him for almost 2 weeks, when they noticed he could not fly. They were feeding dried mealworms (which have NO nutritional value for growing birds), waxworms (also nutritionally void) and commercial suet cakes.
A physical exam showed a droopy, stationary wing, puffed up and quiet, usually indicating pain.
This bird is most likely suffering from metabolic bone disease caused by nutritional deficiency during his most critical growth period. I made sure he was hydrated and fed, and gave an anti-inflammatory which perked our guy up. This result helped me conclude he was in pain. Most likely a shoulder injury.
I am giving some very precise nutrients and vitamins now, alongside the pain medication. Unfortunately I think the damage is done. Their bones become very brittle without proper amounts of calcium and other important vitamins and minerals. Their bones will break very easily.
Now it will be up to me to humanely euthanize this guy if he doesn't improve and can not fly. Wild birds that can not fly, can not be released. A life in a cage is cruel and inhumane for a wild bird.
We aren't being jerks when we say don't feed them. Not only is it illegal to try and raise them on your own without proper education and permitting, it's NOT in the animal's best interest either πŸ’”
