Cat Lovers REJOICE!

We have exciting news for all of our cat loving friends. We will be welcoming in 2025 with a HAPPY NEUTER YEAR event to fix as many bachelor cats as we can before mating season begins!

Happy Neuter Year will be a FREE event that will provide the sterilization surgery and a rabies vaccine for any outdoor Tomcat that you know needs fixed (this includes ferals AND friendly community cats).

This event will be held next Monday, January 20th, with first come-first serve intakes from 8:30a-10:30am. The location will be the SOS of Ohio Spay and Neuter Clinic at 3500 East Livingston Ave, Columbus, Ohio.

RULES:
This event is for MALE CATS ONLY. All cats will receive an EAR TIP and a rabies vaccine since this event is for outdoor cats. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE EAR TIP RULE. If you come in and request no ear tip, you will be scheduled on another day. This event is for a neuter surgery and rabies vaccine ONLY. We will not be providing any other services on this day.

Because people will inevitably comment with the questions "why aren't you doing girls?", here is why-
1) Happy Spay Year does not have the same ring to it.
2) Girls have more variables when it comes to performing their surgeries (and therefore take longer on the operating table), and this event will need to move quickly since there will be a high demand.
3) Providing surgery to outdoor female cats is weather dependent, and it isn't always safe to shave their entire abdomen if it is going to be less than 25 degrees outside.

**If you are a trapper, and you catch a female instead of a male, the surgery will be done if the cat is truly feral. If the cat is a friendly outdoor female who was mistaken for a male, we will either hold her until the following day or reschedule you for reason #2 above.

The goal of this event is the same as every day other day at our hospital. We are working to reduce unwanted litters, keeping kittens off the streets and out of our local shelters. We hope to see all of you who feed an outdoor male cat, and thank you for supporting this cause!

Ok, we've been busy saving kitties -- finally drawing winners today. First winner gets choice of basket (if any of you don't decide within 24 hours we will help you choose😎); second winner gets choice, and third winner gets the last basket. Baskets can be picked up at Whiskers Catnip Cottage in Granville.

THANK YOU all for your support in this -- we raised almost $1800 with the sponsorships! Good timing as we have some extra vet bills this month and a looming dental on an elderly kitty.

Thank you to everyone that came out today (volunteers AND adopters)! Crazy busy couple of hours with 8 adoptions this afternoon! We missed pics of two of them in the craziness, and we are still trying to figure out how to advertise that last one😅.

Look for us Saturday at the Hollywood Feed in Gahanna (Morse/Hamilton Rd location) with more kittens! We will post pics of kittens that will be there.

Feeling thankful for all of these adoptions in just the past 5 days. FIVE of these were on Christmas Eve! Love that these guys all get to spend Christmas in their forever homes this year:)

Can't foster but want to help out and get some kitten love at the same time? We are in need of weekly volunteers (about an hour once a week) at both HEATH and MOUNT VERNON PETCO locations. You would have a set day each week to take care of them; for Heath location just needs to be before 2p).

Supplies are conveniently located and employees are friendly and helpful. Our volunteers have been beyond flexible in covering for each other for vacations, etc.

Daily duties:
~ Fresh water/food
~ Scoop litter boxes
~ Tidy up kennels
~ Chin scratches, pets and some love
