was formed for the purpose of providing rescue, care and adoption of unwanted, mistreated or homeless pugs. DFW Pug Rescue Club was founded in early 1996 and incorporated in July 1997 as a charitable, non-profit corporation. We are one of the largest pug rescue organizations in the United States having rescued and placed over 8,500 pugs. Veterinary care is our biggest expense averaging $220,000 a

year. All pugs rescued are taken immediately to the vet where they are examined, tested and treated for parasites, infections, vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped before being placed in a foster or permanent home. DFWPRC is an all-volunteer, foster-based organization — there are no paid positions. We do not have a staging area to hold our rescue pugs. We depend on the generosity of our volunteers to provide foster homes until permanent homes can be located. You can help to promote our mission and be a part of this exciting volunteer opportunity. One-year-old Wednesday may be timid at first, but once she comes out of her shell, she’s a bouncy, playful, and cuddly girl! Wednesday’s favorite pastimes include zooming around the house and yard, chasing other dogs, going for walks, and chewing on bones and toys that crinkle. She is friendly with people of all ages as well as dogs, cats, and chickens. Wednesday is a well-mannered lady who is housetrained, crate trained, and polite at mealtimes. Two-year-old Moses’ foster mom describes him as “the epitome of a pug,” given that he likes to eat, sleep, play, cuddle, snort, and be part of a pack. Moses’ favorite activities include fetching balls, chewing on stuffed toys (Lamb Chop is his favorite), following his people from room to room, going for walks, snuggling with children and adults, and socializing with other dogs. Moses is housetrained, eats his meals politely, and calmly stays in a small gated area when his foster family leaves the home. His ideal forever family will provide him with plenty of affection and companionship, minimize his solo time by including him in as many family activities as possible, and allow him to sleep in bed with them at night. One-year-old Rowdy has an energetic and social disposition, along with an adorable underbite! True to his name, Rowdy has puppy-like energy and enjoys playing with other dogs, going for walks, and engaging in tug-of-war. He also likes following his people from room to room and snuggling up next to them on couches and in beds. Rowdy is a smart boy who learns commands quickly and is making excellent progress with housetraining now that he is on a schedule. He is crate trained (though doesn’t like to be confined when his people are home), shares his toys nicely, and eats his meals politely and at a leisurely pace. His ideal forever family will have one person who is home frequently to continue with his training and ensure he gets plenty of exercise and companionship. Micah has a calm and affectionate temperament, and he loves socializing with people of all ages as well as other dogs. Five-year-old Milow is a friendly and playful guy who’s at his happiest when he’s surrounded by human and canine friends. His favorite pastimes include going for walks, snuggling with people and other dogs, playing with toys, and engaging in tug-of-war with his fellow pugs. When it’s time to recharge his batteries, Milow strongly prefers to sleep right next to his humans in bed, making full body contact. His least favorite things include being crated and going for car rides. According to his foster family, Milow is “a head turner” who sports a lush coat of golden fawn fur and light brown eyes with a golden hue. He’s more than just a pretty face, though; this handsome boy is making good progress with his housetraining thanks to a schedule started by his foster family, has gentlemanly mealtime manners, and shares his toys nicely. Just like the hot sauce she was named after, 1-year-old Cholula will add spice and flavor to your life! Cholula’s favorite hobbies include playing tug-of-war, chewing on bones, socializing with cats and other dogs, jumping, and chewing on bones, toys, mail, magazines, lip balm — you name it! No item left on a coffee table or nightstand is safe from her snout. She also likes to chew on her leash and carry it around in her mouth during walks. During her quieter moments, Cholula will snuggle next to her people or snooze in her crate. She’s still mastering the art of housetraining, but is making progress thanks to treats and has learned how to use the doggie door. Cholula is at her best when she dines solo, as she doesn’t care for other dogs nosing in on her food. Her ideal forever family will live an active lifestyle, continue her training, channel her puppy-like energy in appropriate ways, and include her in as many family activities as possible. Three-year-old Snortimer is an affectionate boy who wants to make his people happy! Snortimer’s favorite activities include following his humans from room to room, cuddling next to his humans in bed at night, chewing on giant fluffy toys and bones, going for walks, and playing with other dogs. When relaxed, he lives up to his name, snorting and snoring away. Much like any self-respecting pug, Snortimer lives to eat, sings a little song while his food is being prepared, and gobbles the contents of his bowl as quickly as possible. He is housetrained and doggie door trained, but does not love the crate; he can, however, be trusted to roam the house while his people are away. Given his highly social disposition, Snortimer’s ideal forever family will include him in as many activities as possible, minimize his alone time, and allow him to sleep in bed with them at night. Two-year-old Pickles, who was rescued from a breeder, is enjoying her newfound freedom! Her preferred pastimes include running around the house like she’s training for the canine Olympics, socializing with cats and other dogs, taking her people for walks, playing with chew toys, and engaging in any activity where she has lots of company and room to express her puppy-like energy. When she’s not zooming around, she’ll happily park herself on the nearest lap for kisses or snuggle up next to other dogs or people. Pickles is currently working on her housetraining and is learning mealtime manners and other ladylike etiquette; this is a gal who definitely doesn’t like waiting her turn for snacks (we can relate!). She isn’t crate trained, but can be trusted to roam the home freely when her foster family is away. Six-year-old Turo is a world-class cuddler who wants to be with his people no matter where they go. He follows his foster mom everywhere in the house, even the shower. For a breed that’s famously averse to water, that’s the ultimate display of loyalty! In addition to spending time with his humans in wet and dry places, Turo’s other favorite things include riding in the car, going for walks, chewing on stuffed toys (including a stuffed dog that’s bigger than he is), and waking up his foster mom in the morning by sitting on her. Turo loves food, will sing and dance when his meals are being prepared. He’s a smart boy who has learned commands and is making progress on his housetraining thanks to the power of treat bribery! Two-year-old Glinda can be shy at first, but once she warms up, she unleashes her sassy, outgoing, and playful side! Her winky pug status doesn’t slow her down one bit, and she channels her nonstop energy into chewing on toys (sometimes the “toy” is her humans’ pant legs when they’re trying to walk), playing with dogs of all sizes, chasing cats, and going for walks. When she’s not busy playing, Glinda enjoys being in the middle of everyone’s business, observing all of the goings-on in her foster home, and checking out other dogs’ food bowls. She is working on her housetraining skills and making good progress thanks to treats. At nighttime, Glinda rests soundly and silently in her crate, preparing for the next day’s adventures and perhaps mischief. Her ideal forever family will be as active as she is, provide her with plenty of exercise to help channel her puppy-like energy appropriately, commit to continuing her training, and include at least one other friendly and playful dog.
