Pug Trot Registration: https://form-usa.keela.co/pug-trot-registration-form-2024 was formed for the purpose of providing rescue, care and adoption of unwanted, mistreated or homeless pugs. DFW Pug Rescue Club was founded in early 1996 and incorporated in July 1997 as a charitable, non-profit corporation. We are one of the largest pug rescue organizations in the United States having rescued and pla

ced over 8,500 pugs. Veterinary care is our biggest expense averaging $220,000 a year. All pugs rescued are taken immediately to the vet where they are examined, tested and treated for parasites, infections, vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped before being placed in a foster or permanent home. DFWPRC is an all-volunteer, foster-based organization — there are no paid positions. We do not have a staging area to hold our rescue pugs. We depend on the generosity of our volunteers to provide foster homes until permanent homes can be located. You can help to promote our mission and be a part of this exciting volunteer opportunity. Come join us in kicking off our Pug Warrior Program on Saturday, November 23rd!

Join us before the trot for snacks, drinks, and lawn games! Learn about our Pug Warrior Program, then trot alongside our Grand Marshal, Diveth, and stroller-riding pug, Tidwel, on a 0.7-mile paved walk around the beautiful Epic Central Lake. Take breaks along the way, cross the finish line, and claim your medal! Pug Trot begins at 10:00 AM. Register in advance by going to the link in our bio! ☝️

Free admission with donation. Please bring a dog blanket, food, toy, or treats to be donated to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter at the end of the trot.

Two-year-old Roo is an AKC-registered pug, and his sweet and outgoing disposition is even more impressive than his pedigree! Roo came to DFW Pug Rescue after complications due to a liver shunt and bladder stones, but he’s back to being his lively, pugalicious self thanks to a surgical procedure and some TLC from his foster family. He enjoys socializing with children and adults, going for walks, playing with other dogs, fetching tennis balls, chewing on rawhides and bully sticks, cuddling next to his people, and being talkative and expressing his many opinions. Roo’s strongest opinion is that food is fantastic and should be given to him 24/7. He howls with excitement when his meals are being prepared and can be easily bribed to take his daily meds when they are slathered in peanut butter. He is making excellent progress with his housetraining, sleeps in his crate through the night, doesn’t mark in his foster home, and eats his meals politely. Five-year-old pug mix Lalo is outgoing, affectionate, energetic, and (best of all) fluffy. In his free time, Lalo enjoys spending time with kids and adults, socializing with other dogs of all sizes, chewing on rope toys and plushies, shaking his toys around, playing tag, chasing squirrels, going on walks, following his people from room to room, and sitting by the window so that he can alert his people to any movement outside. In his more restful moments, Lalo recharges by snuggling, receiving ear and chin pets, sitting on laps, curling up next to his humans in bed, and spreading out on the cool floor. Lalo is housetrained (but cooperative with wearing a belly band if needed), crate trained, and eats his food politely and at a leisurely pace. He prefers cheese over dog treats (so do we). Lalo’s ideal forever family will indulge his social and active interests and spend as much time with him as possible. One-year-old Robby is looking for an active family who can match his energy! According to his foster mom, Robby has mastered the art of being playful without being destructive or mischievous; despite his energy level, he wants to please, understands the word “no,” and learns commands quickly. He is also housetrained, crate trained, and eats politely. Robby’s ideal forever family will include human and canine playmates who will minimize his alone time, ensure he gets plenty of exercise, and support his pursuit of athletic excellence. Two-month-old pug mix Berlin is a playful, affectionate, and social boy whose favorite activities include cuddling and following his foster family around the home. He enjoys the company of kids, adults, and other dogs of all sizes – the more, the merrier is his philosophy! Berlin is too young to be fully housetrained, but is crate trained and eats his meals politely. His ideal forever family will have at least one person at home all day to continue his training and make sure he has plenty of exercise and social time. Due to his outgoing nature and his preference for being close to his brother at all times, we believe that Berlin would love to have at least one other dog in his forever home. Five-year-old Gustavo, affectionately known as “Gus” or “Goose” in his foster family, is an outgoing little ray of sunshine with super soft fur. He loves having any chance to socialize with people and dogs of all ages, and will give humans a little nudge with his paw when he wants cuddles or affection. Gustavo is a connoisseur of chew sticks and squeaky toys, and when he meets new people, he will run to get his favorite toy of the day to show it off to them. His other favorite things include screaming with excitement when his food is being served, screaming with excitement when his foster family comes home, and cuddling next to his humans as the “little spoon” in bed at night. Gustavo is housetrained and doggie door trained, but doesn’t love to be crated; thankfully, he can be trusted to roam freely in his foster home and usually naps on the couch when the family is away. He has luxating patellas and can’t go for long walks, but that doesn’t stop him from trotting around the home or jumping on the sofa. He requires daily allergy meds to keep that pesky Texas pollen at bay, and also takes a daily joint supplement. Because Gustavo is so outgoing, his ideal forever family will have plenty of time to spend with him and also include at least one other friendly pup. She loves cuddling on the couch with people and other dogs, going for walks, chewing on stuffies, playing tug of war, and digging into a big bowl of food. Bow is accustomed to the city life, isn’t startled by loud noises, and approaches new situations with confidence. She is housetrained and crate trained. Much like his namesake city (New York), two-month-old pug mix York is bold and energetic! His favorite leisure activities include playing with dogs of all sizes, chewing on toys, being cuddled, exploring every nook and cranny in his foster home, and following his pack around all day. He enjoys the company of kids and adults alike and has a loving disposition. York’s foster family is in the process of housetraining and crate training him. His ideal forever family will have at least one person at home all day to continue his training and make sure he has plenty of exercise and social time. As a playful and outgoing guy, we think that York would love to have another active pup in his forever home. 🚨🚨Exciting Announcement!! 🚨🚨
DFWPRC is teaming up with in Vermont to continue our mission of No Pug Left Behind! As many of you know, we have had to shut down intakes twice in the past year due to having an overwhelming number of dogs and not enough fosters. Last month, we had 127 dogs in our care. Add in a never ending waitlist of pugs waiting to come into our program and we knew we had to do something! Green Mountain Pug Rescue is generously taking over the medical expenses for the pugs that are being transferred to their rescue, in addition to providing transportation to get these pugs to the NE where so many families are wanting to give them forever homes. DFWPRC does not receive any profit from these transfers, but it does give us the ability to take in more pugs in need in Texas. Rolo, Pepe, Brownie, Rocky Balboa and Jessie all made the 7 day trip and were excited for some cooler weather! We hope this partnership continues to be successful and more pugs can be saved ❤️🐾

Four-month-old pug mix Beethoven is an energetic and good-natured boy with a silly side! His favorite things include getting the zoomies in the yard with his foster dog siblings, barking at his foster cat sibling, chewing on bones and squeaky toys, and going for walks. He’s too young to be fully housetrained, but doesn’t mark in his foster home, is crate trained, and snoozes soundly in his crate all night. Beethoven’s ideal forever family will have a securely fenced yard and at least one person home most of the time to train, socialize, and cuddle with him. 10-week-old pug mix Florence is a mix of sweet and spicy! This bold gal loves being the center of attention. Her interests include playing, cuddling after she’s too tired to play anymore, chewing on toys with crinkles and ties, exploring every inch of the yard for branches, and parading around the yard with branches in her mouth. Florence is too young to be fully housetrained, but is slowly getting used to the doggie door as an initial step. She is crate trained and sleeps through the night next to her siblings. Florence’s ideal forever family will have a securely fenced yard and ensure that at least one person is at home most of the time to monitor her branch pickup activities and ensure she receives consistent exercise, training, and socialization.
