Meet Ume the Kangaroo! 🦘❀️

Ume came into the ER with an injured leg. After an exam with Dr. Carroll, we took X-rays that showed a broken leg. We were able to work with Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center to perform surgery and repair the broken leg.

She stayed in our ICU overnight and then was transferred to Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital for further care. She was a brave girl and received lots of love and care! πŸ’™

🐱 Canelo came to see us after his family noticed that he was straining to urinate but was unable to.

🚨 Urinary blockages are a true medical emergency and luckily his family knew to bring him straight in. We were able to place a urinary catheter to relieve his bladder. He stayed in the ICU with us for a few days and ultimately was able to go home to his family! 🏑 🧑

Remember to start the new year off right by pet-proofing your celebration! πŸΎπŸŽ‡ With all the excitement and commotion, NYE celebrations can result in lost pets and accidents.

Here are some tips to keep your pets safe:
πŸŽ‰ Secure pets in a comfy place indoors
πŸŽ‰ Make sure all pets have ID tags
πŸŽ‰ Save emergency vet information our phone # is [HOSPITAL PHONE #]
πŸŽ‰ Keep alcohol, treats, and decorations out of reach
πŸŽ‰ Guard entry and exit points – noisemakers, streamers, popping balloons, and fireworks could cause pets to make a sudden escape
πŸŽ‰ If you are leaving your pet for the night, do a quick double-check around the house for all of the above and do what you can to make your pet feel comfortable and safe while they ring in the new year!

The holidays can be a stressful time, but we are here to help!!! (Just ask Scout!)

Unfortunately Scout had to come to the ER on Christmas morning after getting into a little tussle with her fur sibling. Luckily her wounds were very minor and she was all fixed up by Dr. Olbrey and technician Jakoe - who was looking very festive with her Santa hat! πŸŽ…πŸ½
Scout was able to go home just a few hours later and we hope she was able to enjoy the rest of her Christmas at home!

Reminder that we are here 24/7 , 365 days a year to help you and your family when you need it most ❀️
