🧚 Sweet Tinker wasn't home with her new parents very long before she was not acting like a happy-go-lucky puppy...

After some bloodwork with her primary vet revealed she was positive for parvovirus, it was recommended that she be seen for possible hospitalization and treatment to help her little body fight this deadly virus. 🦠 😷

Luckily, Tinker received a newly developed Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody and recovered well from her illness. ❤️

⚠️ The effects of the virus are most prominent in the GI tract, causing breakdown of
the blood-intestinal barrier. This can lead to GI bleeding, dehydration, and hypovolemic shock.

🦴 🧬 The viral attack on bone marrow can destroy young immune cells. Combined with harmful bacteria entering the bloodstream due to destruction of the intestinal barrier, this can lead to secondary infections and life-threatening sepsis.

🛑 Signs to look for in a young or unvaccinated dog are:
- Lack of appetite
- Vomiting
- Hemorrhagic diarrhea
- Fever or low body temperature
- Lethargy
- Abdominal pain

💉 One intravenous dose of CPmAb provides the following results:
✅ Faster resolution of clinical signs or severe disease
✅ May reduce the length of hospitalization
✅ Puppies may feel better faster and go home sooner!

If your puppy is feeling sick, seek immediate care! AEHNT is open 24/7 for emergency and urgent care, with the latest treatments and technology to give your pets the best outcome. 🩺 💊

This happy boy has an appetite for... mulch! 🐶

Bosch had some irritation in his throat after possibly swallowing a piece of mulch that he likes to grab from the garden. 🌹 🌼

After an overnight stay to monitor for a possible foreign body, Bosch went home with some meds to help protect his esophagus from further irritation and nausea meds.

Ralph's mom was concerned about her sweet guinea pig! 💙

She noticed his eye seemed a little cloudy and wanted to make sure everything was alright, so she brought him to AEHNT for immediate care. 🚨 🚑

Our emergency care team performed an eye stain and confirmed there was a corneal ulcer present. 👁️

Ralph was discharged the same day with some eye meds to take home and help mend his injured eye. Speedy healing, Ralph! 🙏 🐾

Look at this sweet baby! 😍 🐶

Poor Cleo had a vaccine reaction and was taken to AEHNT for evaluation. With lots of cuddles, antihistamines, and steroid therapy to bring down her facial swelling and hives, she was feeling herself again! 💗 🐾

⚠️ Technician Elizabeth wants you to know that vaccine reactions can be common, especially for a first-time exposure.

Be sure to watch your pet closely after vaccines and know where your nearest vet or emergency vet is located. 🚗 🏥

After your pet's first vaccine reaction, your primary vet may want to give antihistamines and/or steroids ahead of their vaccine visits in the future. Be sure to talk to them about the right plan for your pet to keep them vaccinated and safe. ❤️ 🐕 🐈

As always, at AEHNT, we're here for you. Always. 💙

Say hello to Thor! ⚡

This handsome boy spent a night in the hospital with fluid therapy and meds for a possible foreign body. 🚑 🩺

After returning to his primary vet in the morning, he was in the clear, and surgery was not needed! 😻

This stoic gentleman appreciated the cuddles from technician Jakoe during his workup and blood draw. 🐱 💉

Small patients call for small equipment! 🦎

Loki is a leopard gecko who came in for holding his eye closed. 👀 With delicate care from Dr. Hassell and a mini cotton swab, no injury to the eye was seen. But due to a possible infection in the mouth, it was causing discomfort with a weeping eye for poor Loki.
