Sammy knows you should always be prepared when you go to the ER, you never know when you need an overnight bag ready. πŸŽ’ 🐢

Luckily for Sammy, his visit did not require an overnight stay, and his swollen neck was treated with an anti-inflammatory and some at-home TLC. 🏑 πŸ’•

🍫 🐰 Kaya couldn't help but sneak into the Easter chocolates a little early (especially when she knows how to open doors to pantries).

After going to her primary vet, they elected to be seen by the emergency team due to the amount of chocolate she ate just in case it was recommended she stay overnight for monitoring. 🩺 πŸ₯

🏑 πŸ›οΈ Kaya went home for some close monitoring after she vomited, but not before she was carried to a comfy bed by her technician, Alex, while her mom discussed a plan with the doctor. ❀️ 🐢

🐰 Easter Pet Safety Tips! 🐀

🌷 Easter is a time for fun, family, and festivities, but it’s also important to keep our furry friends safe during all the celebrations. Here are some tips to make sure your pets stay happy and healthy this season:

Keep Chocolate Out of Reach 🍫 - Chocolate can be toxic to pets, so be sure to hide Easter treats where they can't get into them.

Avoid Easter Lilies 🌸 - Beautiful, but dangerous! These flowers are toxic to cats and can cause serious harm if ingested.

No Plastic Eggs for Chewing 🐣 - While they’re cute, plastic eggs can be a choking hazard. Keep them away from curious paws and mouths.

Watch the Easter Grass 🌱 - It's fun to use, but it can cause gastrointestinal issues if ingested by pets. Keep it contained!

Create a Calm Space πŸ›οΈ - If your pet gets overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle, set up a quiet, safe spot for them to retreat.

Have a hoppin’ good Easter and keep those paws safe! 🐾🐰

πŸ₯ 🩺 If your pet gets sick during the holiday weekend, bring them to AEHNT! We're open 24/7 to provide emergency and urgent care--even on holidays. Call (817) 410-2273 or visit us at 2700 West State Hwy 114 Grapevine, TX 76051.

High five for excellent patient care! πŸ™ 🦎

Did you know that toxic plants aren't only a concern for cats and dogs, but also exotic pets like Camille, the 5-month-old Veiled Chameleon? 🌿 🌷

After Camille went a few days without eating and started showing signs of lethargy, her owners researched newly added plants to the enclosure and didn't realize one may be toxic if ingested.

After consulting with ASPCA Poison Control, Camille went home with fluids for hydration, injections for nausea, and her parents were given instructions on syringe feeding until her appetite returned to normal. ❀️
