Courtesy post: looking for a foster/ rescue or a forever for this sweet little, poodle mix, Marge. She must have been in excruciating pain and discomfort with teeth hanging out of her mouth and some pus even oozing out when she arrived to our shelter. But volunteers were struck by her sweet, happy demeanor and willingness to get along with everyone! . Thanks to staff that got her groomed and lo and behold, most teeth just fell out! Thanks to a very dedicated shelter vet team that spayed her and removed the last, shaky 2 teeth left . Toothless, yes but happy as a clam. She is one of the sweetest, gentlest little souls- " not a mean bone in her body" says her short term foster mom. Marge is a 9 year old angel. ❤️Has been great with people and quick to bond
❤️Not-so-good with cats
❤️Active. Loves going on walks.
❤️A Gentle Giant (72 lbs)
❤️Loving and Friendly.
❤️Berlin is also showing no signs of health issues
❤️Neutered, heartworm tested/negative, vaccinated and microchipped
❤️ He should have a fenced yard.

Look no further. Meet my current short term foster, little Winston, Winnie for short. Weighing about 7 lbs, fully potty and crate trained, this spunky lilttle senior makes friends wherever he goes. Easy to handle, loves car and bike rides and good with my other dogs . My other foster, recovering from his tumor removal, grooms him daily so Winny loves attention but very quiet overall! ‼️ UPDATE 8-26 - DUE TO UNFORESEEN MEDICAL ISSUES WITH HIS PLACEMENT, BEAUTIFUL BRICK IS IN NEED OF AN ADOPTER OR FOSTER ASAP‼️
💜♥️ Brick's foster was quoted as saying that "he loves so much and so hard."
Since leaving the shelter, Brick is showing to be both human and dog social. (He was dog selective at the shelter, and slow/proper intros are needed to ensure it is a good fit. As is not uncommon with dogs coming from the shelter, Brick is tending to hyperbond and will need a situation where someone can help him work through his anxiety of being left.)

Brick recently met some social dogs at our shelter. At this time we believe he is dog selective. He may be able to live with a compatible dog, but we will update as we have more information.
In addition to the shelter info above, we have learned he is dog selective/can be reactive in the kennel environment/play groups and redirected on a staff member once when they were grabbing him (did not break skin/stopped when he realized it was a human).

Did I mention she is a retriever?! Loves to play fetch . And when done, she will sit for a treat and would love to snuggle with you!

❤️ Cutie Pie Parson (A866125) is a 4-year-old neutered German Shorthaired Pointer who desperately needs placement! Parson has been adopted and returned shortly after adoption twice due to attacking other dogs and was too interested in kitty cats.

💜While Parson doesn't participate in shelter playgroups, this lively pooch is thrilled to get out and play in the yards with volunteers, working on his skills such as “sit” and “down”.

❤️ When his happy tail gets going, which is often, Parson has the cutest little hip swing in town.

💜 A previous adopter let us know that Parson is attentive, affectionate and appears house trained.

❤️ On his doggie field trip earlier this month, Parson went to the park, where he happily met lots of people on his little adventure. He was a good car passenger too!

💜 True to his breed, Parson his pointer energy is go-go-go. He could play fetch (his favorite game!) for hours.

❤️ Parson is a wiggly, energetic and affectionate boy who will thrive in an active, controlled environment where he can be the only pet.

Scooter's Pals is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 as a life-affirming tribute to Susan Wallace's beloved companion animals that she lost in a tragic incident.

Scooter's Pals has evolved into an all-volunteer group. We are committed to helping the animals in our community through spay/neuter, veterinary care, and re-homing into loving adoptive homes.

Scooter’s Pals focuses on rescuing from high-kill shelters. Once rescued, we spay/neuter, vaccinate, provide vet care, and then foster care or interim boarding until an adoptive family is found.

Fred hasn’t had it easy in life: he was pulled from a hoarding situation and brought to Yolo County Animal Services Shelter with a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed. Fortunately, Scooter’s was able to step in and save him.

Now in the care of an amazing foster in Davis, Fred has shown that despite his mobility issues, he has so much life left to live. He’s only around 1-2 years old, 8 lbs, and has no problem moving himself around the house and even enjoys going on walks with his wheelchair!

Fred is great with all people (including young kids), gets along well with smaller dogs, and is happy to cuddle and chill out most of the day. He usually wears a belly band indoors but will stay dry for a few hours so he just needs to be let out every few hours during the day.

If you’re looking for an affectionate little buddy to keep you company, please give Fred a chance! He deserves a forever home where he can be spoiled rotten and showered with love. If that’s something you can provide, please contact his foster directly at 312-498-4647 🐾

🐾 MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER‼️

Scooter's Pals has noticed the lack of options for senior animals looking for new homes.

🐕‍🦺🐈🐕‍🦺🐈❤️🐕‍🦺🐈🐕‍🦺🐈❤️🐕‍🦺🐈🐕‍🦺🐈

For the past several years we have rescued more than our fair share of senior dogs; and we have recently started rescuing senior cats.

Feline shelters are over-crowded causing a lack of safe places, locally and in surrounding areas, our feline fur-friends.

We are hoping the community will support us in this endeavor and ask you donate to us for this effort.

We just purchased and created a “Catio”(cat-patio) for sr. cats and we’re asking that you please donate, if you are able, to us to assist in veterinary, along with food expenses for these seniors fur-friends.

Good homes will of course be located as soon as the cat becomes available for adoption (after being spayed or neutered, clean bill-of-health and knowledge of the cats personality).

On Saturday 8/3 this sweet mama and her young puppies were brought in by a field officer, she was possibly living on the streets trying to care for her babies and fend for herself ��.
Litter ID: A587863
Mama Hen is listed as a 2-year-old Harrier mix; she came in weighing a healthy 91lbs! Her litter of eight (6 males / 2 females) are well cared for by Mama Hen; she appears to have had multiple litters prior to this little brood. She is an excellent mom, not overly protective with staff, loves to go outside as she appears to be potty trained but willing to get back inside to tend to her motherly duties.
