A sad day for the PCK family. "Katie" has moved on to running the fields of heaven. She was a special bird dog and a special mother to our first litter. So many words to describe her. She was perfect in most ways. A bird finder, mannerly and most importantly a great friend. So many stories. One that stands out: Katie wasn't patient at waiting her turn to hit the ground so she figured out a way to open the dog box on the truck. She got out with no GPS in a 30,000 acre pasture. Thankfully, she knew her job and was found pointing some birds two trails away. We will miss you sweet girl but know you have reunited with some of your amazing family and we will see you again one day. We LOVE you and miss you terribly!!

🎄 Holiday Safety Tips for Your Pets 🎄
The holidays are magical, but they can come with hidden dangers for our furry friends. Here’s how to keep tails wagging safely all season long:

🍗 Skip the scraps – Fatty, sweet, spicy foods, alcohol, and bones are a no. Stick to their regular diet (a tiny piece of plain, boneless turkey is okay!).

🔌 Hide wires & batteries – Chewing cords can cause serious shocks, and batteries are extremely dangerous if punctured.

🌿 Watch the plants – Mistletoe, holly, lilies, and poinsettias can make pets sick. Faux plants are the safest option.

🎄 Secure the tree
• Anchor it so it can’t tip
• Keep tree water covered
• Skip tinsel (it’s a BIG hazard)
• Keep wrapped food & candy off the floor

🕯️ Never leave candles unattended – Curious noses + wagging tails = fire risk.

🔊 Mind the noise – Loud music, poppers, and fireworks can scare pets. Create a quiet, cozy retreat space.

🗑️ Lock the trash – Leftovers, bones, and decorations can cause serious trouble.

❄️ Skip snow globes – They contain toxic chemicals similar to antifreeze.

🧂 Use pet-safe ice melt – Salt and ice melt can cause dangerous electrolyte imbalances.

💊 Secure medications – Yours and your guests’. Closed cabinets only!

From all of us at Pet Commander Kennels, we wish you and your pets a safe, cozy, and happy holiday season 🐶❤️🐱

Thanksgiving at Pet Commander Kennels was just a little extra special this year!

Every pup who spent the holiday with us was treated to a homemade Thanksgiving feast... because we truly believe in caring for every pet like they’re our own.

Our staff poured so much love into preparing these meals, and seeing all those happy wags and shining eyes brought us just as much joy as it did them. 🐶

Staying with us is truly a home away from home...full of comfort, fun, and extra spoiling during the holidays. 💛

We’re so grateful for the trust you place in our team.
From our Pet Commander family to yours, we hope you had a warm, wonderful Thanksgiving! 🧡

As we head into Thanksgiving week, here’s your friendly reminder from Pet Commander Kennels to keep those furry family members safe! 🦃🐾

We know the begging eyes will be extra dramatic this week, but some holiday favorites are dangerous for pets. Before you slip them a little “treat,” check out these common foods to avoid:

🍫 Chocolate – can cause GI issues, neurological problems, and even heart complications.
🍬 Sugar-free candies, gum, or baked goods with xylitol – can lead to dangerously low blood sugar and liver problems in dogs.
🍇 Raisins & grapes – even small amounts can cause kidney failure.
🍗 Turkey & ham bones – can splinter and cause serious internal blockages.
🍺 Alcoholic drinks – pets can experience alcohol poisoning quickly.
🍞 Raw bread dough – can expand in the stomach and cause bloat or electrolyte issues.
🧅 Onions & garlic – can lead to anemia and secondary kidney complications.

A little caution goes a long way in keeping your pets safe this holiday season. Wishing you and yours a happy and safe Thanksgiving week!

With holiday guests rolling into town next week… does your pup need a little spa day to freshen up before all the family fun? 🛁✨

At Pet Commander Kennels, we offer stand-alone spa appointments, including a warm bath and nail trim, and you don’t have to be boarding or training with us to book one!

🫧 Limited spots left before the holiday, so grab your dog’s appointment while you can. We’d love to help them look (and smell!) their very best for your company.

📲 Call or message us to schedule your appointment!

🦃🐾 Thanksgiving Prep is Underway at Pet Commander Kennels! 🐾🦃

The countdown to our pup-approved Thanksgiving feast has officially begun, and our staff is buzzing with excitement! We’ve started gathering all the ingredients, organizing our prep lists, and getting everything ready for the most adorable holiday meal of the year.

This special “Thanksgiving Dinner” will be served to every boarding and training dog spending the holiday with us... a festive plate made just for them, filled with the flavors of the season and plenty of love from our team.

Seeing their tails wag and their eyes light up is one of our favorite parts of the holidays, and we truly cannot wait to spoil our furry guests with this celebration.

If your pup will be joining us for Thanksgiving, get ready... they’re in for a treat! And if you still need to reserve a spot, now’s the time before we’re full. Limited spots remain!

🎄 Yesterday we talked about the most common holiday struggles you shared with us... jumping on guests, barking during gatherings, begging at the table… all the things that can turn a joyful season into a stressful one.

Today, let’s talk about the solution to those holiday woes:
✨ Obedience training. ✨

Training creates calmer greetings, easier mealtimes, and a pet who can handle the excitement and energy of the holiday season. It supports:

✔️ Reduced unwanted behaviors when guests arrive
✔️ A safer environment for both pets and people
✔️ More confidence for your dog in busy settings
✔️ A stronger bond and clearer communication between you and your pet
✔️ A mentally and physically fulfilled dog who behaves better overall

And the best part?
You still have time to make these changes before Christmas.

At Pet Commander Kennels, we offer two powerful training options:
🐾 15-Day Obedience Program
🐾 30-Day Obedience Program

Both can be started now and completed in time to give you a well-mannered, holiday-ready dog by the time family gatherings begin.

We specialize in a unique board-and-train approach. Your dog stays with us in one of our luxury suites, receives multiple training sessions each day, plus playtime, socialization, and plenty of love. We teach solid obedience, work on specific behaviors you want to improve, and tailor everything to your dog’s needs.

And when training is complete, we don’t just hand your dog back...
we meet with you and teach you how to communicate with your newly trained pet. Because a trained dog is only effective when the owner knows how to “talk” to them.

✨ Tune-ups are included, so the training lasts long after the holidays.

📞 Call today to book your consult and reserve one of our final winter training spots!
