It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of "Fence". Fence was an original member of the Pet Commander Kennels hunting team. All dogs are undoubtedly special to their owners and Fence exceeded the word special. He was an incredible athlete, bird finding machine, and even better friend. I'm not sure we will ever have one again that will hunt like he did and then lay on the couch with you for hours. He guided countless hunters over the years at the 6666 ranch and King Ranch. He made many hunting trips to Montana and I am grateful I took him to western OK last year for one last ride. He has pointed thousands of birds and has made me look like an awesome trainer and handler in some of the most brutal environments for a bird dog. I can recall almost all of his graceful finds. He liked to find a wild pig when the birds were slow, I used to get frustrated at him for that but would love to even see that one more time. I love you buddy and fiercely miss you already. I'll see you again I know that for certain, so until then, run like the wind!

The holidays are the busiest time of the year for many of us, but remember to take a quick moment each day to make sure that your house is safe for your pets this season!

Keep those toxic plants 🌿, decorations 🌲, and wrapping materials 🎁 out of reach, make sure your pet doesn't receive (or steal off the counter!) any human food 🍪, and ensure that they have a safe, quiet 🤫 place to retreat to during busy gatherings that may be stressful for them.

This is also the perfect time of year to make sure that your pet's microchip information is updated, in the event of an escape during travel or a gathering.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Meet Jaimee! 🌟

Meet Jaimee, our incredible Kennel Care Supervisor, who’s been with us for over two years! 🐾 From day one, Jaimee has consistently risen to the occasion, working dedicatedly in every role she’s taken on, including stepping into a leadership position where she has built and continues to lead an amazing team of employees.

She’s the friendly voice you hear on the phone 📞 and the welcoming face you see when you walk into the kennel. Behind the scenes, Jaimee does it all. From expertly training dogs and managing their day-to-day care to ensuring our furry guests have a safe and comfortable stay, Jaimee does it all with dedication and a smile. A forward thinker, she’s always focused on the individual needs of each dog, prioritizing their care and safety day in and day out. Jaimee truly goes above and beyond.

Her favorite part of the job? Witnessing the transformation of the dogs she trains and knowing their owners can trust their pups are in great hands. 💙

Outside of work, Jaimee loves playing pickleball, strumming her guitar, and plans to earn a certificate in animal behavior. She’s been surrounded by animals her whole life and has always known this was her calling. At home, she enjoys life with her dog, Winston, and fiancé, Braxton. 🐶💍

Meet Eva, our incredible Kennel Care Team Lead, who has been a valued member of the Pet Commander Kennels family for a year and a half! 🐾 Eva's days are filled with ensuring our boarding and training dogs receive top-notch care, from feeding, to playtime, to giving baths and nail trims! 🫧 She may also be the friendly voice greeting you on the phone when you call the kennel! 📞

Watching the dogs grow and thrive through our training program is one of her greatest joys, and her passion for animal care shines through every task she takes on. At home, she shares her life with her adorable Beagle, Lucy. We're absolutely thrilled to have Eva on our team—her energy, dedication, and love for the dogs make her an essential part of our Pet Commander family! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we wanted to share some helpful tips with you to help keep your furry family members safe during the holiday.

🦃 Don't share human food with your pets. Many Thanksgiving dishes contain ingredients that are dangerous for your pet.

🗑️ Secure your trash cans at all times. Even a dog who normally leaves the trash alone, may be just a little too tempted when they smell leftovers from cooking the big meal in the trash. Bones are especially dangerous!

🕯️ Make sure that your pets do not have access to potentially hazardous holiday decorations, like candles.

🐶 Create a safe zone for your pets to retreat to where they can get some peace and quiet, away from house guests. This could be a kennel for crate-trained dogs, or a quiet room to themselves.

‼️ Make sure that your pet's microchip and tag information is up to date. Pets are more likely to escape when traveling, or with guests in the home.
