Max is looking for his forever home!

Max is loyal, cautious, but willing to become friends, and an eager observer of his world.

He loves snow, car rides, and his favorite stuffed toy.
His ears perk up when watching squirrels, but he doesn't bother chickens or cats. He loves playing with other dogs!

Max cam from West Virginia and was very skittish when he came to his foster family, but every week he opens up more. Max is still on high alert when meeting men, but considers the men in his foster home part of his pack. He would love a home where his people will be patient as he grows to trust them and the outside world. He will be a faithful and loving companion. Max is fixed, UTD on shots, house trained, and crate trained. Located in Southern Maine.
Adoption fee $150.
Rapid Approval in as little as 1 hour.

IF YOU FIND A HYPOTHERMIC ANIMAL
DO NOT:
1. Feed the animal
2. Submerse the animal in warm water
DO:
1. Get the animal out of the weather and inside
2. dry off the animal
3. talk to the animal
4. stroke to stimulate blood flow
GET TO A VET IMMEDIATELY!!!
If you feed a kitten with a temp below 97 you can KILL it!
If you warm them up to fast you can KILL it!
If the animal is frozen to the ground DO NOT PULL IT OFF!
Get LUKE WARM tap water and pour it around and under the animal. that water is warmer than the snow and air and is going to feel like FIRE to that animal's nerve endings. Think about stepping into a hot tub and how hot it feels. Again you DO NOT want to use hot water. Then Immediately dry the animal off, wrap it in a towel, shirt etc. and get to the nearest vet office.
Steady and slow is rule of thumb. A vet can treat the animal for shock and hypothermia using a series of injections and warm IV fluids and an incubator.
Losing ears, tails, toes or a leg is workable. Damaging internal organs isn't.

Be careful when you are dealing a a breeder.

Be careful when you are dealing a a breeder.

Paula Vandergriff Palm, 61, is behind bars, charged with aggravated animal cruelty after 150 dogs were rescued from squalid conditions on a Coweta County property.

Investigators uncovered a horrifying scene, including dogs living in filth, a dead dog being eaten by others, and animals confined in overcrowded pens without shelter.

The case has sent shockwaves through the ethical breeding community, as many of the dogs were purchased under false pretenses from reputable breeders.

“This has shaken our community to its core,” said breeder Janine Neely.
