How is leptospirosis transmitted?
Leptospirosis is spread through the urine of infected animals.

Humans can become infected through direct contact with an infected animal or by drinking or eating contaminated water or food.

Soil and water contaminated with the bacteria can remain infectious for weeks or months.

Symptoms of leptospirosis
Fever, Headache, Vomiting, Jaundice, Rash, Muscle pain, Gastrointestinal issues, and Liver and kidney damage.

What animals can carry leptospirosis?
Squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, foxes, deer, rats, and mice
