Update on Renly:
🐾 30 pounds
🐾 Approximately 1 years old
🐾 Demodectic mange and obvious skin infection
🐾 Roundworms, hookworms, whipworms
🐾 Skin is too tough (and painful) right now to do bloodwork for 4dx heartworm test - will hopefully do that in a couple weeks at follow up
Treatment plan: nexgard, deworming, antibiotics, antifungal, steroid, pain meds
Follow up in approximately two weeks. Thank you for the donations thus far! He will be recovering inside with his own soft bed and will be safe, with plenty of food and fresh water.
What a little fighter. ❤️🩹
Did you see Georgie?! If you could say no to that baby then you might not be alive 😢
But she’s safe now. Her only concern now is to get healthy and we will see to it that she never suffers again!

Take a look at Roll Over Rolled Ice Cream Back Roads alum! Each of these dogs remain near and dear to our hearts!
A lot of people have said they miss the videos of the dog walks on the farm. I, personally, don’t get to foster much right now between my schedule and the fact that I’ve reached saturation with the number of dogs I have. But it’s a long weekend and I decided to take a walk with the nine dogs here with me now. 🥰 Happy Memorial Day weekend!
And for the local friends, if you want to take your dog and hang out while eating some ice cream, head over to Roll Over Rolled Ice Cream (all the ice cream flavors are named after Back Roads dogs). They serve dairy free pup cups and introduced dog treat flights yesterday!!!
Piper’s squeaky toy game is STRONG!!!
Rescue Rotts are the best 😍 His name is Deuce, but we call him Gooey Squish because he’s so gooey and squishy. He wins hearts everywhere we go! (He’s not for adoption, we rescued him for our family)
Update on the “neuro” (?) puppies...see for yourself.
We still aren’t sure what their issue was but they’ve pushed through 😍
Thanks for all the support, it was a stressful time.
Pupdate!
Little Brevvy is now having minimal neuro symptoms. She’s still not normal, but 💯% better.
Today she’s with her foster momma and siblings waiting for foster dad at his doctor appt.
They’re finally starting to act like normal puppies
Thanks to all of you for your donations!
We cannot catch up. We are currently at the vet with some very sick puppies, exhibiting neurological symptoms. These pups were found on the side of a rural gravel road, no signs of a momma.
The vet estimates them at only five weeks old and we are all exhausted. We were able to raise $2000 this week, still owe $1000, and now these babies are critical.

Kyda’s life changed dramatically overnight. She was literally on the brink of death due to starvation and dehydration when she came into our care. She was not moving on her own and could barely hold her own head up. Luckily Kera and Sharon jumped into action and despite the tragedy of what happened to three of her siblings, she will hopefully live a long and healthy life. #roadtorecovery #thisiswhywerescue
Not going to lie, I was so nervous for an update from their foster mom this morning, but the pups all survived the night and are doing as well as expected!
If anyone would like to pick up some jars of chicken baby food for the weakest pup, Kyda, we’ve been giving her chicken baby food in addition to her kibble. She is being fed small amounts but frequently to help bring her little body back to normal eating.
Her foster mom can meet anyone in olive hill or grayson
I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did!
