We are beyond thrilled to share this joyful adoption update—Roxie has found her perfect match! She’s finally with the family she was always meant to have.

Just two weeks ago, a wonderful couple stopped by our adoption event at PetSmart. They had seen Roxie’s zest for life on social media and instantly knew she was the one. Athletic and full of energy, Roxie is the ideal companion for their active lifestyle—they love to run, and so does she! Now, she’s living her best life, complete with ice cream dates, endless games of fetch, and well-deserved naps in between.

When Roxie first came to us, she was in heartbreaking condition—underweight, soaked in urine, and dismissed as a “bad dog.” She had been confined in a 32” crate, tied in with grocery bags. We don’t know much about her past, but it was clear she lacked everything a dog needs to thrive: proper nutrition, grooming, socialization, veterinary care, and most importantly, love and understanding.

Today, we’re overjoyed to know that Roxie will never have to worry again. She’s finally safe, loved, and living her fairy tale.

We are still actively searching for foster homes for these two sweet boys who desperately need our help. Without a committed foster, we won’t be able to step in and save them.

Bear is a 2-year-old neutered black Standard Poodle with the typical high energy of the breed. Unfortunately, his current family is overwhelmed and has given us just one week to find a new place for him. Please consider giving Bear the chance he deserves—it's heartbreaking how often dogs like him are rehomed due to lack of research about breed needs and lifelong commitment.

Giddy is a senior toy poodle, approximately 10 years old, currently at Gwinnett County Animal Control. He is rescue only due to a heart murmur and is at risk of euthanasia if we can’t find a foster or rescue placement soon.

Please help us give these boys the second chance they deserve. Fostering saves lives!

We absolutely love when our alumni come back to visit — even if it's just for a grooming appointment! Some of you might remember “Louie,” formerly known as “Rudolph.” He was one of four Goldendoodle puppies we rescued from a puppy mill in Jacksonville, Florida. Shortly after, he was rushed to the ER and received a life-saving blood transfusion due to severe hookworm anemia.

Ollie also found his forever home through our rescue about a year ago. Originally purchased as a Border Collie–Poodle and being housed with a Belgian puppy about bis same age, his former owner struggled with the intense dynamic between two high-energy working breeds and eventually made the tough decision to rehome him.

Now, Ollie and Louie are the best of roommates! Ollie takes the lead, and Louie happily follows. They're a perfect match, and both are thriving in their loving home. Their wonderful adoptive pawrents continue to open their hearts by fostering for our small poodle rescue — and we’re endlessly grateful for their support!

Meet Bear!
He’s currently on the waiting list to join Mavroudis Poodle Rescue in Grayson, GA.

At just two years old, Bear has already been through several homes. Sadly, it’s not due to anything he’s done wrong—his previous families simply didn’t fully understand what it means to care for a young Poodle before bringing him home.

Bear is a typical, energetic 2-year-old Poodle. He’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, walks nicely on a leash, and according to his current family (who’ve had him for three months), he’s housebroken and working on crate training. While they’ve grown to love him, they’ve realized that he’s more dog than their household can handle.

We need a committed foster home in order to bring Bear into our rescue.

Layla and Osita are small Chihuahua mixes who would thrive in a calm, quiet home—either together or separately. Both girls are fully potty pad trained and are unfamiliar with the outdoors. They’re looking for a home where they can enjoy being lap dogs or retreat to a peaceful spot when they need some alone time. While they might be a little wary at first, once they trust you, their sweet personalities shine through.

Meet Giddy, a tiny senior pup currently at the Gwinnett County animal shelter. At 10 years old, he’s been labeled a “stray” and is has been diagnosed with a 4/6 heart murmur along with severe dental disease and a bunch of little old man warts. Right now, Giddy is scared and losing hope—but he shouldn’t be spending his days in a shelter when he could be curled up in a loving lap.

We’re urgently looking for a committed foster family and the funds needed to cover diagnostic tests for his heart and evaluate potential medications to give him the best quality of life.

4/17 UPDATE: Woody is still having a tough time, especially with eating and drinking. Giving him medication has become extremely challenging, and we’re worried he may soon need IV fluids and hospitalization. Unfortunately, that kind of care is beyond our reach right now—his medical expenses have already drained most of our savings, leaving us with very little to continue supporting him.

Please consider helping by sharing this post or donating whatever you can to support Mr. Woody. He’s already overcome so much in his short life, and with a little help, we believe he can pull through this too.

4/16 UPDATE: woody has severe pneumonia and needs our help! Please remember no amount is too small! We truly need any and all help possible to help find Woodys medical care! Below are photos of his radiographs from this morning.

We got an early message this morning — sweet Woody just isn’t himself. While we’ve been treating him for a severe ear infection, he’s now having trouble breathing. His breathing sounds like a boiling teapot, and he's been described as very lethargic and down today.

Woody is on his way to Chewy Vet Care this morning for additional treatment and support. His care has already added up to hundreds of dollars, and today’s visit will likely add significantly more.

As a small, two-person nonprofit, we rely heavily on the kindness and support of our community. If you’re able to contribute — no matter how small — it would mean the world to Woody, our team, and all the other fosters at Mavroudis Poodle Rescue.

This year, as I celebrate my 40th birthday, I’m doing things a little differently.

Instead of gifts, I’m asking for donations to our nonprofit 501(c)(3), Mavroudis Poodles Rescue Inc.

I have chosen this cause because there’s a real poodle and doodle crisis happening—not just in our local community, but across the country. These dogs are often overlooked, neglected, or discarded, and they deserve so much more.

On February 13th of last year, someone from the Department of Labor asked me, “How many poodles do you plan to help this year?”
I guessed—maybe 10?

Fast forward to the end of the year, and we had rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed over 70 poodles, poodle mixes, and a few other furry friends who needed our help.

Why? Because everyone deserves a second chance.

If I had the funding, I’d open a “Poodles & Parolees” sanctuary tomorrow—a place for second chances for dogs and people. That’s the dream. And with your support, we get one step closer.

Meet Layla
Layla is a timid soul who came to our rescue after being surrendered purely out of “convenience.” Her world was turned upside down when the only family she had ever known—since she was a puppy—decided they no longer wanted her. They surrounded Not one but three pets

Now living in a foster home for the past few months, Layla is slowly learning to trust again. She’s just beginning to open up to her foster family, showing signs that she’s ready to connect—but on her terms and timeline.

Layla is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can be the one and only princess. She is 100% potty pad and kennel trained, and although she enjoys brief visits with her foster mom, she’s not comfortable around the larger, younger dogs in the home.

Layla is doing her best to learn English, but she feels most at ease when spoken to in Spanish—her preferred language.

Meet Treasure—affectionately known as “Tractor Trailer.” This big, lovable guy will claim your lap the moment he sits down and offers his signature “weighted bloodle technique” for instant therapeutic snuggles.

Tractor has been around children of all ages and has done wonderfully. He’s also made fast friends with every animal he’s met and was even a fan favorite at doggie daycare before coming into our care.

This gentle giant would thrive in a home with another playful, active dog. He loves a good game of fetch and zooming around the yard—but don’t let his energy fool you, he’s just as passionate about cuddle time and never passes up a chance to nap with a buddy.
