Does your dog want to eat your cat?!
3 tips 👇🏼
🍀 give your dog a job to do when your cat is present
🍀use positive reward that overvalues the interaction with the cat
🍀be consistent. If it’s a mess at first, that’s normal. Behavioral progress comes from consistency, don’t cave because it’s trying the first time around. Keeo your dog leashed until you’re comfortable and KEEP GOING.

Activities that you can do with your dogs kibble to burn off some extra energy🍀🐾👇🏼
🍀Roll their kibble into a towel sprinkling a few pieces at each layer. Toss it on the floor and let them work through it!
🍀Play “find it” by putting a few pieces of kibble in cups and spreadigg bc then around your house. If your dog is a rookie at this, have them sit and watch you place the cups in the same room, release them and tell them “find it”. You may need to guide them at first to the cups, build difficulty as you progress!
🍀Practice heel inside with luring. Make a path in your home and pass treats creating a constant flow of your dog following you (on the left beside your left leg). Mark the position with a piece of kibble and keep it moving!

Two dogs, two breeds, same upbringing… two totally different personalities. How much of dog behavior is Nature (breed, breeding, etc.) and how much is Nurture (environment, structure, exposure, etc.)? Lets get into it.
On the nature side we have breed groups as a whole- Sporting, Working, Hound, non-sporting, terrier, toy, and herding. Yes, this matters. Over multiple generations your dog was built for a job, and that job can fall into any of the above groups. What your dog was bred for has a huge part to do with their inherent behaviors, it is our job as their parents to guide them and help them make good decisions.
And this is where nurture comes into play, helping our dogs be the best version of themselves. It’s our job to advocate for our pups and set them up for success. The best path for that is to decide your long term goals, establish strong expectations with your dog, and all you have to do is maintain them. Truly, our dogs want to please (well, the majority of them do), if you give clear guidelines, you’ll get clear results. It’s up to you to lead the way! 🍀🐾

Pungo, the island pup from Puerto Rico who was taken off the streets, put on a plane and into a home within 2 weeks is now a certified good boy. Pungo heels like a champ, has gained confidence in himself, and is currently working on his off-leash skillz. Congrats , we can’t wait to see you at group lessons!

Let’s talk puppies, and more specifically how we come to get them.
90% of us either decide to adopt via a rescue or go the breeder route. The days of getting puppies from the mall are almost forgotten (phew🥵).
With that, it falls on us, the potential buyer, to deep dive into our breeders. Any mass produced website that sells multiple breeds is an automatic no because, hello puppy mills. Finding a great breeder is harddd. Every single breeder breeds for something different; they could breed for disposition, coloring, conformation, working lines, adaptability, overall health, etc. each breeder has a specific focus when fine tuning their lines. Above all else, when searching for your perfect pup I would look for a breeder whose focus is in disposition and health. Anytime you’re inquiring with a breeder, always ask what their focus is within their breeding lines. If they don’t have an answer or their answer is aesthetic, please arianna grande them and THANKYOU, NEXT.

This is Balous’ second week in his program and we have already seen incredible progress in the communication between he and his mom!
